DAVID OR THE SONS OF ELI

Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the Lord.[1Sa 2:12 NKJV]

Wait! These are children born and bred in the house of God. The same place that David said" For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness." [Ps 84:10 NKJV]

David could say this because he never played religion; he sincerely desired to know the Lord. For him, knowing the LORD meant everything to him. Listen to a man who wishes to know the LORD:
"One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple."[Ps 27:4 NKJV]
..but the sons of Eli did not know the LORD! Sons of a priest? How? This is easy because, knowing God is different from going to church; knowing God is different from being close to a man of God. The point is, the sons of Eli were closer to Eli the priest more than any other person. They were always in the house of God, enjoying the sacred foods and yet had no interest in knowing the Lord.

The issue is not whether or not you belong to a church, it has to do with your desire to know the LORD. There are many sons of Eli in the church who sleep and dine in the house of God and yet have no desire to know God.You cannot substitute the knowledge of God for anything, not even your sacrifice. Even if you offer yourself as a burnt offering on the alter and have you no desire to know God, it means nothing to Him.

Read this: "For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."
[Ho 6:6 NKJV]
In other words, ...God prefers you knowing Him to giving costly offerings to the church. You can as well keep your offering if you have no desire to know the HIM. Why do you think Paul, after writing many epistles to many churches would say, "That I may know Him..."Phil.3:10.?

May we receive the grace to increase in the spirit of revelation and understanding till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;[Eph 4:13 NKJV]
Amen.

‘TAKE OFF YOUR FILTHY CLOTHES’
Lively Oracle:Malachi.as

“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.”
‭‭[Revelation‬ ‭12:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]
“Then the angel showed me Jeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua.”
[‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬]

Joshua had an encounter with the Lord in a vision; and as he stood in the presence of the angel of the Lord, satan showed up with his usual devices: accusations. We must understand that, satan’s preoccupation is accusations! He has three job descriptions: to remind us of sin; makes us sin-conscious and finally accuse us of sin.

The introductory text does not tell us what exactly satan was accusing the priest of but subsequent verses do justice to that. We read:
“Jeshua’s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said to the others standing there, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And turning to Jeshua he said, “See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.””
[‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬]

Who told Joshua his clothes were filthy? Remember Adam and Eve? This is called sin-consciousness!The filthy clothes were the sins of the high priest and these were satan’s cause for accusations. Joshua was sin conscious, he felt sinful, filthy and unfit before the Lord. But watch this :” see, I have taken away your sins...”.The Lord, out of His great compassion, clothed the high priest with His righteousness so he might be able to stand in His presence.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.”
[‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭54:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬] 2Cor 2:11

Strengths of the Believer:
1) We are equipped and armed with the necessary weapons through the Word of God to rebuke the devil.(Zech 3:2)
2) Our righteousness is from the Lord.
3) We are like burning sticks taken from fire 🔥
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
‭‭[Revelation‬ ‭12:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

THE REVELATION OF GOD

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
1Jo 5:20 NKJV

Jesus is the first and the last revelation of God. He is the eternal and perfection purpose of God. What the son did was to reveal and manifest the invisible God to us. God is Spirit and He can neither be seen nor understood; He is a mystery. The knowledge and revelation of God would have continued to be a mystery without Jesus. God needed to reveal Himself through a medium and that medium is Christ Jesus.
So Jesus explained to His disciples who wanted to know whom the father is, and He said: " I am Way, the Truth and the Life, you cannot access and know the father except through Me". That is true! He is simply saying that: " I am the only Way to God, I am the only Truth of God and likewise I am Life of God.

This means if you choose any other way, then you are simply lost; and if you reject Him, you have embraced a lie and if you do not have Him then you are without life. Sweet! It satisfies and pleases God to make Jesus the lamb of God; and to have the Godhead dwell in Him bodily. For He Himself testifies that Jesus is worthy to represent Him as a Son. Chiefly, Jesus is the salvation (life) of God, and then He is the perfect revelation of God.

John the beloved noted, " And we know that the Son of God has come to give us understanding that we may know the true God". Unfortunately, some people do not have this understanding- so they cannot say that Jesus is Lord. Well, they definitely will, just that it may be too late. Again, Apostle John noted, "We are in Him who is True".Wow! We are in Jesus Christ, who is the Truth of God.
And we "know", we do not just "believe". You must strife to go pass believing to knowing. This is why the Pauline prayers are very important to the believer. "You must be filled with the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him..."

Finally he says, "This is the true God and eternal life".
The Godhead is complete in the Son such that, if you have the Son, then you have God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah! It's funny when someone says Jesus is/was just a prophet! How can it be? He pre-existed everyone and every creation for that matter. He was in the beginning with God (John 1:1). In fact and Truth, all things were made by Him, through Him and for Him (Col 1:16-17). One day He told the unbelieving Pharisaic Jews who questioned His deity that, " ... I tell you the truth, before Abraham was, I AM" (John 8:58). What else do you want to hear?

How do we know that we are His?
"The [Holy] Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,"
Ro 8:16 NKJV

Amen!

JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH IS HOW GOD SAVES MEN

(And why Some cannot give their lives to Jesus)

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: 'Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!'" (Luke 23:39)

Hanging on crosses at Jesus' right and left hand are two criminals, Greek kakourgos, "'criminal, evil-doer,' one who commits gross misdeeds and serious crimes."1162 Other Gospels call them robbers, Greek lēstēs, "robber, highwayman, bandit"1163 (Matthew 27:38; Mark 15:27). Though they could have been common thieves, they also might have been the kinds of highwaymen that swooped down on lonely groups of travelers from Jerusalem to Jericho, stripped them of their possessions, and left them for dead, as in the case of the victim in the Good Samaritan (10:25-37). The same Greek word is used to describe them. Bandits like these two were the terror of travelers. Those who were able, traveled in larger parties.

One of these highwaymen, dying on a cross on one side of Jesus, now takes up the cat-calling begun by the soldiers, "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" It was probably much like the cruel teasing of inmates that goes on in prisons today. It represents a general jab at authority of any kind. A pulling of everyone down to one's own level. The thief is making fun of Jesus' inability to do anything despite the exalted title of "Messiah" that has been used concerning him. Where is this talk of "Messiah" now? he sneers. You're dying just like us. Death is the great equalizer.

The verb used to describe the thief's taunts is Greek blasphēmeō, primarily, "to demean through speech," an especially sensitive matter in an honor-shame oriented society; "to speak in a disrespectful way that demeans, denigrates, maligns. Slander, revile, defame."

But the other criminal rebuked him. 'Don't you fear God,' he said, 'since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.'" (Luke 23:40-41)

These taunts are making the other condemned brigand very uncomfortable. The word blasphēmeō can refer to reviling humans, but also to "speak irreverently, impiously, disrespectfully of or about ... God." The second bandit has not lost his faith, for he asks, "Don't you fear God?" To stand by and participate in such an unrighteous act as to execute an innocent man is an impious, sinful act, and the second brigand refuses to desert his sense of right and wrong.

Then he said, 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.'" (Luke 23:42)

Two things to note:
- [ ] The fear of the Lord is all it takes to enter into the kingdom of God. The word for fear is the Greek word “phobeo”. It describes awe-inspired reverence to God. A man without this nature cannot come to God.
- [ ] And then putting your trust(faith) in God’s plan to raise up after death. We must understand that, Jesus is God’s plan to raise men up to Himself so they can spend eternity with Him.
