# APPLES OF GOLD IN PICTURES OF SILVER #
******* THOU EXCELLEST THEM ALL *******
Men and women were created in the image of God, and in the very beauty of their differences (biological, emotional and psychological) they both reveal the characteristic nature of God (Genesis 1:27).
Throughout the Bible, God is likened to a mother; "...now will I cry like a travailing woman," (Isaiah 42:14). " As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you"(Isaiah 66:13). "...yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee."(Isaiah 49:15). "Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings."( Psalms 17:8). "...how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" (Matthew 23:37).

It is this maternal nature of God that embodies the motherhood found in His creation. Paul poetically captures it this way "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." ( 1 Corinthians 13:4-7).

I have come to learn growing up around my mother figures (biological, adoptive, aunts, sisters, and grandmothers) that their heart beats so much for others than themselves. In fact, the word 'MOTHER' becomes 'OTHER', when its leading letter is removed. A mother and a child can be separated, however, the chord that bonds their hearts can never be broken.
So, from the very crust of my heart, I wish all mothers a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
"Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” (Proverbs 31:28,29)

THE EXODUS CAMP OUT

In the genesis of the exodus to the promising lands of Abrafo Odumasi,
The Adventist youths of UG, UCC and UEW sandwiched,
Converged at the Kakum area to backpack the forest,
Like the Israelites in their pilgrim journey.
The moon and stars watched from afar as we hiked.
Buoyed by the songs we braved the nightly woodlands,
Each with torch lights to brighten the path.
The working trees paused peering at our move.
Wait, can you hear that sound?
Oh, what I dreaded, wet shoes.
After squelching a while, I began to enjoy it, strangely.
At our rest point, comprehended fully I homelessness.
Stones for a pillow, grass for mattress and a jacket for warmth.
In the morn, our sodden shoes dried by the marching drills.
And in our bones the lessons of endurance stored.
The Sabbath drew nigh and divine rest found us.
The mothers visited with their harmonious ministration.
And that talk by the campfire; lovely lessons.
Farewell’s morn came with it unusual parcel,
Got my maquillage, and enjoyed that last meal.
Thanks, Emily, Aflo, Mary, and Magdalene
For your motherly care.
Lest we forget, fellow sentinels of Christ,
To pass it on, yes, the Whole Wiase
To pass it on to posterity.

******* THE ALBUM OF LOVE *******
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."(John 3:16).
In the face of tragedy, pain, suffering, poverty, diseases, natural disasters and the many injustices of life, many are asking, where is God and why is He silent. Why do we have a good God who owns an evil world?

Indeed, God is love and has never been silent. In fact, after the rebel angel, Lucifer attacked God's character of love, God could have stopped the ripples of rebellion there in Heaven. But that only would have proved right Lucifer's claim that God was unjust.
And for the vindication of His character, God had to allow His precious universe to witness the nature of rebellion in its fullness.

The rebel angel and his host were cast out of Heaven and continued to war against God by destroying his creation. Our first parents fully warned of this usurper enemy and fully armed with the power of choice, sadly fell to the enemy's lies and disobeyed God. This opened up to the enemy's arsenal; subjecting God's creation to pain, suffering and all the evil that we see today.

But on that same day, God's plan to redeem and restore His creation was revealed; " And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."(Genesis 3:15). "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."(John 3:17). In Christ's soon second advent, evil and the enemy will be vanquished and the earth restored.

In the meantime in this mean world, be the hand that Heaven will employ to carry this gospel of love.
Help a hand with the Gospel, for help is a hand.

ALL IS WELL

All is well
The calmness when all at His alter laid.
When firmly anchored and trusting ever,
Our God to guide and provide.
For His name is faithfulness, oh Father
Avenge your own, yea speedily.

All is well
The psalm of victory over despair.
Knowing ravens will feed and heaven's bread to fall.
Trusting angels to watch and His Spirit to comfort.
Should the ocean us consume or assail,
Hush! For it is well, even in the whale.

All is well
The doxology of our pilgrimage,
And the meditation sweet of our experience.
Raising stones of remembrance for posterity,
As we run faith's good race
Singing all is well, yea trust is all

OF GOLD IN PICTURES OF SILVER #

A STUNNING SUNSET OR A FLAMING FIRELIGHT
The gas explosion at Atomic Junction, Madina - Legon area of Accra is another scar of remembrance and responsibility.
Were you anywhere close to the area in Accra that day like I was.
At dusk, we heard the sudden blast that quake the land, darkened the candescent community and alarmed the residents to flee for safety.
Children, mothers, fathers, the young and old people were part of this exodus to safety grounds.
Graciously, it started raining and eventually the firemen arrived at the scene.
Few of the victims died, many were injured, several properties got damaged and some courageously delighted in thievery.
Today, it appears all is well and calm but it is not so. Yes, for this world is nearing it end amidst these catastrophes and the earth has no haven for anyone.
And so I humbly invite you, yes, you to " Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21."

# APPLES OF GOLD IN PICTURES OF SILVER #
******* STONES OF REMEMBRANCE *******
God instructs His people "...beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt,"-DEUT.6: 12.
Moses recounted the story of God's deliverance in his song at the shores of the Red Sea " Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?..." EXODUS. 15:11.
God maintains a principle memorial, that saves us from pride and redeems posterity; "...shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done." - PSALM 78:4-6.
Like Moses, our song today is our story as well. The eyes that were once consumed with grief have seen relief. And so when our children ask "...What mean ye by these stones?", we shall make it known to them "That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments." - JOSHUA 4:6, PSALM 78:7.
For ALL IS WELL in the journey of life, YEA, when TRUST IS ALL.
