LAZINESS

The lazy Christian is full of amazing excuses. He would say he couldn't leave his bed because of an imaginary lion in the street (Proverbs 22:13). Such a person will not amount to much because anyone who wants to be successful must be prepared to work hard!

In the third year of my medical schooling I earned a distinction. In preparation for that exam, I didn't sleep in the night for six weeks. I only slept in the afternoons between 2p.m. and 6p.m. Then from 6p.m. till the next day at 2p.m., I would stay awake.

I would go for long walks, memorizing and retaining some of the course material. I remember walking up and down in the "R" Block (the blocks had names) of the medical students' hostel, memorizing all sorts of information about worms, flies, and insects. When other students were asleep, I was walking behind their rooms memorizing things about worms, crabs, scorpions and every other creature I had to learn about.

When you see somebody succeeding as a Christian, or doing well in any sphere, he must be working hard! "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men" (Proverbs 22:29).

All those who are doing well are not magically blessed; their success comes out of working very hard. In the same way, those who are not leaving their faith are not just miraculously staying on course. They are working hard at their Christian lives!

GOD IS STILL CALLING YOU
Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh,that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come

The Second Call
And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah THE SECOND TIME, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh,that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid
thee Jonah 3:1-2
God is a God of mercy! He will give you a second chance to obey Him. Jonah is an example of someone who had a second chance to hear and obey. Sometimes we have only one chance!
The God of a 2nd chance Perhaps, God has always wanted you to
work in a church and that is why He created you. Perhaps you have
been running away from God’s call. But god is speaking to you
again. God spoke to Jonah twice. Perhaps this message is another chance that God is calling you to do his work The gifts and calling of God are
without repentance (Romans11:29).God does not change His mind with the passage of time. Rise up and obey what God is calling you to do, join a group and do something in your church.
