This new year is going to present new opportunities, new reasons to give thanks to God, and new opportunities to serve Him. To start the new year right, are there some negative things you need to leave behind from 2021? A hurt, a bad attitude, an area that you’re compromising in? Don’t bring any of the offenses, or the self-pity, or the disappointments and bitterness into the new year. God is inviting you to “forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18–19). As long as you’re dwelling on the negative past, you’re going to miss “the new things” God wants to do. Let this year be the year to break free from those things that have held you back once and for all.I declare this will be a year of God’s favor for you and your family, with healthy relationships and good friends. I declare new doors are going to open, with promotion, success, with creativity. I declare you are blessed with good health, with vitality and energy. I declare freedom for every bad habit, recovering for everything that was stolen. I declare that from this day forward you will experience a new sense of freedom, a new happiness, a new fulfillment. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”(Ps 18:2).No matter what struggles you faced this past year, know that God is your Vindicator, your Redeemer, and your Restorer. He makes all things new! So, stay expectant and hopeful for this new year.With God's help, there is always a way. This is a beautiful truth to be grateful for. It may not be easy; it may not be convenient; it may not come quickly. You may have to go over, under, around, or through difficulty—but if you will simply keep on keeping on, you will find a way. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life." He is the Way, and He will help you find a way even where there doesn't seem to be one.Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.(Hebrews 10:23)God is already in all of the tomorrows of 2022—working everything to your good in the new year into which you walk.Good morning. It’s a brand-new year, a fresh start, a day to declare God’s goodness over 2022!.(Isaiah 43:19)Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.God’s heart is to bless you abundantly. He wants to take you to levels you never dreamed you could reach!He said in Psalm 40:1-3,"[God] brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock. He has put a new song in my mouth".There is some lifting going on today in your life. The Creator of the universe is saying, if you put your trust in Me and shake off the discouragement, I will lift you to places that you could not reach on your own. I will lift you out of trouble into victory. I will lift you out of sickness into health. I will lift you out of lack into abundance. God will lift you out of unfair situations and give you beauty for ashes.Keep your head up and your eyes on Him, take a giant leap of faith.Ask, seek, knock, and receive. Don't let discouragement cause you to give up.Don't let negative thoughts convince you to settle where you are.Your mind will give you good excuses.Perhaps you’re struggling with depression, fear, anxiety, worry. That is not your destiny. You’re about to overflow with joy, overflow with peace, overflow with victory. You had a setback in your finances, you don’t see how you can get ahead. You’re about to overflow with favor, overflow with good breaks, overflow with opportunity. In the difficult times, God has promised that you’re going to overflow with abundance. You’re not going to lack anything you need. There’s going to be plenty of strength, plenty of healing, plenty of peace, plenty of grace.God has the final say. He has not brought you this far to leave you. He’s shown you His goodness, His favor, and His mercy in the past, and He’ll do it again in the future.God will make things happen that you couldn’t make happen. The mercy and grace of the Lord is upon me. My Spirit,soul, and body are sanctified and consecrated to the Lord. He leads me in the path of righteousness and preserves me under the shadow of His wings. The presence of the Lord surrounds me and no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper.I receive everything that I ask for according to Your will. God's counsel concerning my life will stand. Open my eyes and cause me to walk on the path that leads to the blessings Your have set for me. In the name of Jesus, I declare every door that leads to destruction closed, and every door meant for my elevation opened. I will not lean on my own understanding. By faith, I silence every voice of fear, doubt, and anxiety. By God's word, my steps are ordered into victory and success. _Friday 2nd July, 2021_

*SLAVES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS*

ROMANS 6:18
And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Before you were a Christian you were a slave, in to sin. _Even when you did not want to sin, you were unable to do otherwise (Rom. 7:15-24). When God saved you, He freed you from sin, but you remained a slave. Now, rather than being bound to sin, you are bound to righteousness._In every area of your life you are obligated to do what honors God._
There are some who believe that when Christ sets them free, they are free to do whatever they want. That is not so.The apostle Paul realized that when he began following Christ he became a “bondservant” of Christ, and his life was no longer his own (Rom. 1:1). Now, rather than being enslaved to sin, he was enslaved to God and His righteousness. When people mistreated him, he had forfeited the right to respond from his natural feelings but was compelled to offer a righteous response. When he was tempted, he was no longer free to succumb to his feelings. Paul could not enter the workplace and act selfishly. He understood that, as a slave of righteousness, he was obligated to live a holy life, honoring his Master.
_Righteous living is not an option for a Christian._ Nor is it something we must try to do over time. It is an obligation, mandatory for every child of God. Our freedom in Christ is not freedom to do what we want. It is freedom to live righteously, something we could not do when we were in to sin. Now that we are free to live righteously, we must allow the Holy Spirit to produce in us a holy, sanctified life (1 John 3:7).

_But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the return you get is sanctification and its end, eternal life._
(Rom 6:22)
