Mark and Pat Rose Ministries

Mark and Pat Rose Ministries Mark and Pat Rose serve inside Slavic and Asian countries of the former Soviet Union and are currently missionaries to the country of Georgia

It is our hope that this page will help my friends understand our vision to share the Gospel of Christ and that the information provided will encourage you to trust God more and to see the Great Commission in living color unfold before your eyes. We need your prayers and support for this ministry to succeed. After 23 years living and working inside Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan and other fo

rmer Soviet countries, the Lord continues to prove His power and Grace in every conceivable way. We pray this page will be a beacon to raise support for this ministry, prayer for missions in the former Soviet Union and the people there who have little freedom to evangelize. Most of all, we pray this page will give glory to God and show how He is already at work in even the most dark places of the world.

Greetings in the name of Christ! Patricia and I have not posted for a long time. Patrticia had cancer and it took a year and a half of our life to focus on her care. Praise God! She is doing so good now and things are going well. She has issues that linger but healing. Thank you for all of your prayers. Now we begin to focus on our ministry again.

Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Georgia....what is going on? This week we will post information to help you understand some of the history and the causes behind the conflict. Most of all, we will share about the spiritual warfare that is taking place.

Merry Christmas from the Roses! Today we want to update you on news from Georgia. The country remains closed for international travel so Pat and I are still in the USA. We are planning to return in July. As best we know, it is very possible that July will be safe to travel and Georgia will be open. But it is only a guess as you know.

Georgians have really been hit hard because their government has been unable to help their citizens financially. With businesses closed and tourism dead, economic activity has ground to a halt.

National Churches have really stepped up to help their members and to reach out to their communities. Pastor Elguja and Word of Life Church started a ministry in May called Mercy Evangelism. Pat and I send support to help them fund this ministry. They carry food and clothing to families because the Georgian people are not even able to feed their children due to the economy. This has been used of God and many have come to know the Lord through their outreach. Please pray for Pastor Elguja, Word of Life Church Batumi and Mercy Evangelism. See photos of their outreach in this post below.

Matt and Rebekah Rhoda are missionaries from Australia and live in Batumi with their three children. Their family got locked down in Georgia and they have remained and continued to serve the Lord their a ministry they started in Batumi called Batumi International Christian Fellowship. Wonderful family, great missionaries. Pray for them as raising a family is very hard on the field. See their family photo below.

Unknown to most Americans is the powder keg connected to the recent war between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This conflict has a long history but recently in a newspaper called Georgia today, this paragraph appeared in an article about the conflict.

"Georgia, while generally friendly with both Azerbaijan and Armenia, has far more investments not just economically but also politically, with the former. Armenia and their Russian benefactors would use the opportunity to seize control of the Caucasus entirely. A dicey gambit indeed, but one that would be the “holy grail” of the anti-NATO movement." Georgia's economy depends on tourism mostly and the pandemic has cut deep into Georgia's stability. But our ministry partners are finding new voices and audiences for their witness during this difficult time. This coming July, we will host mission teams from the United States for another attempt at the Black Sea Campaign. We are calling it Black Sea Camaign 2.0. This missionary evangelism campaign is being shaped by current conditions in Georgia such as widespread poverty and the atmosphere of fear that exists today. I believe God will have a great harvest through this effort. If you want to be part of the campaign, you are invited to join us and our ministry partners. Contact us for more details via private message or email [email protected].

Hope has never been brighter and stronger than it is today in Christ. Please have a wonderful and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

So good to know that Georgia opens up for us to return after July 1st. Praying for a return soon. We miss all our friends so much. But there is much to do and few laborers....thank God for our brothers and sisters in Georgia who have been faithfully laboring for the Lord.

Pat and I are praying for all of you. We will do a Facebook Live meeting with all of you soon. Please keep your eye open. We are preparing and it will be unlike anything you are seeing right now. We aim to encourage you and give you good news. We will talk about this summer's Black Sea Campaign and what we are planning (to postpone it till a later date). Tune in when you see our notification. We love you.

I believe this is so powerful and true!

Christianity is a religion on paper, it is much more than a religion in reality. Here are 9 reasons Jesus hates religion (and you should too).

Good morning. All week the Lord has been telling me to share this so here it goes. Thirty years ago last month, God told me I was going to be a missionary to the former Soviet Union...the voice in my head said, "Wherever Russian is spoken and communism reigned"...that was the former Soviet Union and Georgia is one of those Republics. It was a clear calling from God. But, it wasn't the first time the thought came in to my head. The first time I thought about being a foreign missionary was in Heath High School in West Paducah, Kentucky. But I was not living the Christian life so I hid that voice and told nobody that I would like to be in the ministry of missions. Thirty years ago, I was a Captain in the US Army and driving home from Fort Gilliam near Atlanta one day I was listening to the radio and the news reported that Berlin, Germany was about to be reunited into one city and that the "Iron Curtain" was about come down....they were tearing down the Berlin Wall. As I listened, God said, "You are going to the Soviet Union to tell the people about me". Two years later, I was there and began serving as a missionary with my family. Today, in the country of Georgia, we continue. America has had a great impact on the former Soviet Union for the Gospel. The problem is that when the wall came down, religion (the bad kind) took the place of communism and it still chokes the good things of God keeping them from the people's hearts. Next summer we want to mass distribute the Word of God in Georgia along the Black Sea. The message is, "Take the Bible and read it....know who God really is". So, I believe that after 30 years, this will be the best we can do to help the people of Georgia know Jesus..." For the Black Sea Campaign to happen, we need 100 people to sign up for one of the ten day stints. It begins June 26th and ends August 30th. 200,000 copies of scripture will be given to 200,000 Georgians and/or tourists vacationing on the Black Sea. Pray for this please. January 1st is the deadline to sign up. If we don't get 100, we will not be able to do it. So far about 30 have promised to come....but we won't know for sure until January 1st. So all of my years and all of the wisdom God has given me tells me that giving them the Word of God is the most important thing we, as missionaries, can do...join us! "Let's make a statement: "This Bible is important...READ IT!"
