WHY DO WE EXPERIENCE BURN OUT?

We experience burnout because we try to rely on our own limited human strength rather than God's endless power. In Galatians 6:9, the Bible acknowledges our tendency to grow weary when it tells us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
When exhaustion hits, Jesus provides the ultimate cure for burnout in Matthew 11:28, offering a direct invitation: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
To revive and encourage ourselves in our Christian walk, we must shift our focus to the Lord, trusting the promise in Isaiah 40:31 that "those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Many highly influential and respected pastors throughout church history and modern times have openly admitted to struggling with severe depression and burnout. Their transparency proves that mental and emotional exhaustion is a human reality, not a sign of spiritual failure.
Charles Spurgeon: Known as the "Prince of Preachers," he was the most famous Baptist pastor in Victorian England. The struggle: Spurgeon suffered from a lifelong, paralyzing battle with deep depression, regular "fainting fits" of the mind, and severe burnout caused by overwork and physical illness. In his own words he openly wrote and taught about his depression to his students, famously stating that "the preacher's fainting fits" are common and that he often wept without knowing why.

Martin Luther; the German priest and professor who catalyzed the Protestant Reformation. The struggle: Luther frequently experienced deep seasons of what he called Anfechtungen (intense spiritual anxiety, dark despair, and melancholy) that would leave him bedridden for days.In his own words: He was very transparent with his students and family that his mind was often assaulted by darkness, and he openly advocated for community, rest, and music to help revive a depressed soul.

Rick Warren: Author of The Purpose Driven Life and founder of Saddleback Church, one of the largest megachurches in America. The struggle: Following the tragic loss of his son to su***de after a lifelong battle with mental illness, Warren spoke openly about his own severe grief, emotional burnout, and deep depression. In his own words: He used his global platform to break the stigma of mental health in the church, admitting to his congregation that pastors are completely vulnerable to the same mental and emotional brokenness as everyone else.

John Piper: Famed theologian, author, and former long-time pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church. The struggle: In 2010, after decades of non-stop ministry, Piper realized he was severely burned out, experiencing sour emotional detachedness, and hurting his family dynamic. In his own words: He requested a mandatory 8-month leave of absence from ministry to seek counseling, rest, and spiritual renewal, speaking openly to his church about his desperate need to reset his soul.

When burnout strikes, Scripture commands us to lean into God's sustaining grace and extend deep empathy, rather than judgment, to others. For ourselves, Galatians 6:9 urges us not to grow weary in doing good, promising a harvest if we do not give up, while Psalm 34:18 reminds us that "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." When we recognize this same heavy exhaustion or depression in others, the Bible instructs us in Galatians 6:2 to "bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Instead of criticizing or judging someone's spiritual state, we are called to actively pray for them and lift them up, just as 1 Thessalonians 5:11 instructs us to "encourage one another and build each other up." By choosing compassionate prayer over criticism, we mirror Christ, who protects and binds up the broken instead of condemning them.

I will be continuing this teaching with lioking at examples of those in Scripture who also suffered from the same conditions and encourage us all in prayer to stand fast, pray for others and ourselves. Life always changes. Allow yourself the opportunity to experience a change in yourself and or others by waiting on the Lord. He will never ever fail us.
Gods best blessings to all of my beloved brothers & sisters in Christ. I would love to hear from you if you will post a comment and add to our subject here in some way. Thanks so much. Agape love in Christ always,

JESUS PURCHASED THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE
By His sacrifice, the Lord Jesus purchased all mankind, both the unsaved (2Peter 2:1, Rom.14:9;Heb.10:29;Matt.13:44.Exod.13:12-15)and the saved (1Cor.6:20;7:23).By His purchase He as man became the owner of mankind to do with as he please in keeping with the divine plan.Consequently,as the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ is truly Lord of all (Acts 2:36,10:36)by costly purchase as well as by divine gift (John 3:35;Matt.28:18;Ps.2:8). Also being God,He is Sovereign over the universe as it's Creator (John 1:3;PS.24:1). When He return to earth again, the Lord Jesus,as the Adam, will evict the usurper Satan, will take charge of earth as it's lawful owner, and will rule over His subjects as God accountable (John 5:22), will judge mankind to determine who are qualified to enter His millennial kingdom (Matt.13:41-42;49_50;25:31-46).He will appraise the lives of his people when He comes again.(Rev.22:12.

💗WOMEN AND THEIR ROLE IN MINISTRY…

God Has Always Used Women to Speak and Lead

-Old Testament Foundation: Leadership and Authority
• Deborah – Judges 4–5
◦ Prophetess and judge over Israel
◦ Gave commands to military leaders (Barak)
◦ Led the nation spiritually and strategically
• Point: God entrusted a woman with national leadership and spiritual authority

Women Proclaim the Gospel in the New Testament

• Mary Magdalene – John 20:17–18
◦ First to see the risen Christ
◦ ‼️Commissioned by Jesus: “Go and tell…”
• ⭐️Point: The first evangelist of the resurrection was a woman ⭐️

-Women Teaching and Explaining Doctrine
• Priscilla – Acts 18:24–26
◦ Helped teach Apollos, an eloquent and learned man
• Point: Women were involved in doctrinal instruction, even of men

-Women in Recognized Ministry Roles
• Phoebe – Romans 16:1–2
◦ ‼️Called a deacon/minister of the church
◦ Trusted leader and supporter of Paul’s ministry
• Junia – Romans 16:7
◦ “Outstanding among the apostles”
• Point: Women were not just present—they were recognized leaders

-The Outpouring of the Spirit Includes Women
A. Prophecy Promised to Both Genders
• Acts 2:17–18 (quoting Joel)“Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…”
• ⭐️Point: Speaking God’s Word publicly is not gender-restricted

-Equality in Christ
• Galatians 3:28“There is neither male nor female… for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
• Point: In Christ, access to calling, gifting, and purpose is shared

Addressing Difficult Passages ‼️Honestly‼️
A. Understanding 1 Timothy 2:12 in Context
• Written to a specific church (Ephesus) dealing with disorder and false teaching
• Paul’s instruction addresses a local issue, not a universal ban‼️

B. Let Scripture Interpret Scripture
• If one passage seems restrictive, but many show women:
◦ Prophesying
◦ Teaching
◦ Leading
• Then we interpret the difficult passage in light of the clear, repeated examples

God Calls, the Spirit Empowers
• God called Deborah → leadership
• Jesus commissioned Mary Magdalene → evangelism
• The Spirit filled daughters → prophecy
• Paul affirmed women → ministry roles
Conclusion principle:
• God calls according to purpose, not gender
• The Holy Spirit gives gifts without partiality.

• God is still pouring out His Spirit today
• The same Spirit that empowered:
◦ Deborah
◦ Mary Magdalene
◦ Priscilla
◦ Phoebe

“If God has spoken, who can silence it?”

I thank God for my anointing and the mantle He has given me and I will never stop fulfilling the Great Commission of reaching lost souls through the love and teaching of the Gospel of Christ as well as building disciples through teaching the Word so others can feel confident to continue to expand the Gospel.

I am so thankful to fully know the TRUTH - because it does set one free. And NO one can stop what God has put into place.

I want to encourage you as a woman to stand on Gods truth and be who He has called you to be in Him.
And, I want to encourage those men of God who are confident in their calling to support those women you know in ministry.
Together, we can truly change the world for Christ.

Gods best blessings always,

We must discipline our lives to develop
our spiritual focus and not let it get pushed to the side with the daily concerns of this life.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Have you found your purpose in Christ? I believe from reading Scripture, Christ has plans for each of our live. Specific purposes for each of us we can fulfill through the gifts and talents He placed within is when He formed us.

Romans 12:6-8: Mentions having gifts that differ according to the grace given, such as prophecy, service, teaching, encouraging, contributing to needs, leading, and showing mercy.

Diverse Gifts: Gifts vary from person to person, including practical abilities and spiritual manifestations.
Purpose: Talents are for serving others and strengthening the community, not for self-promotion.
Stewardship: We are accountable to God for how we use our abilities.
Multiplication: Faithful use of gifts leads to further opportunities and growth.

Lets keep trying each day to not just know we have been saved by faith in Christ, but to truly know Him more than anything else in this lifetime.

Agape love in Christ Jesus. I would enjoy you commenting and sharing what purposes in Christ you have found for yourself! 😊 Blessings,

Ev. Debbie
