Today is the feast of St Columba. Mass at 10:00am.
St Columba was an Irish missionary who spread Christianity in Scotland. He founded the abbey on Iona and is one of the patron saints of Ireland. Fun fact: St Columba was the first recorded observer of the Loch Ness monster!

Faith summertime is an opportunity for young people aged 10-15 to celebrate their faith from 20th-23rd July at Ampleforth Abbey. Four days combining both faith and fun activities in a relaxed holiday setting. The week is structured around getting to know God and each other and includes Holy Mass each day, talks about the Catholic Faith, discussions, prayer, quizzes, arts and crafts, games, sports and a visit to Flamingo Land. The cost is £180. Please see Canon Michael if you would like to know more as we would love to help any of our young to go. Today the Children’s Liturgy group learned about how important the body and blood of Christ is when we come to mass. They can’t wait to start preparing for their First Holy Communion when the time comes! Thank you to Niamh for sharing a picture of her beautiful colouring page.

Bishop Marcus led a joyful Corpus Christi procession in York this afternoon. It was great to see so many people from across the diocese come together to worship the Lord. Thank you to St. George's, York, and everyone else who led this joyful witness of faith. (This photo isn’t even from the very back!)
