Don’t miss our Advent and Christmas celebration on Tuesday December 9th. We’re starting at the slightly later time of 10.30am for coffee, worship, fellowship, with art and writing stations, ending with a cold buffet including mince pies and cake. Do bring along your nativity sets too.
No soup this time, but you can buy our reprinted soup book which will make an excellent Christmas present. The price of £4 remains the same as our first edition ! What a bargain.
It will be so good to meet up again. Hope you can come ! All are welcome.

This morning we enjoyed our final event before our summer holiday. Put Oct 14th into your diary now for our next gathering! We will miss each other but will look back at another joyful and fulfilling 10th year of Kingdom Arts.
Today we focused on the life of Martin Luther King and his fight for equal rights in the US, a man who wanted peaceful protest, famous for his “ I have a dream speech” was killed by a sniperwhen he was just 39. It was so moving to listen to his story then reflect on this in our art and writing. We ended with a savoury and strawberry indoor picnic. Have a lovely summer !

We have a great morning in store on Tuesday May 13th , including Alex giving the talk about the colourful and deeply spiritual work of Sieger Koder. He is her favourite Christian artist , who I think inspired her bright choice of clothes and boots !
Lots of different crafts and ideas for inspirational writings and of course soup , coffee , friendship and a deep time of worship. Do join us at 10am at St George’s church , Barbourne and be inspired too!

How to describe this morning’s meeting ? We talked of suffering, and questions of Faith, but also of God’s glory and the joy of knowing Him and having certainty in life forever. Lots of fun too, making quills from feathers, drawing flowers without looking, making crosses, by punching felt as well as learning new songs and worship and eating simnel cake . Our next meeting is May13th.

Such a sense of unity this morning as we talked and worked together to plait a textile prayer ring and then use it in our worship together. We were focusing on the brilliant work of Jacqui Parkinson, who creates large pieces of embroidery illustrating creation, and revelation and the sacrifice of the cross. Do read some of the written poetry produced by members this morning soon to be on our website at www.kingdom-arts.co.uk. They were very moving and perseptive.

Quite an emotional morning as we heard how Maximilian Kolbe, a Polish priest, volunteered to take the place of a family man who was sentenced to death in Auschwitz in 1941. What a sacrifice Maximilian made, a parallel of Jesus’s death on the cross. Bernard Halver, a German priest , also came to visit. A memorable time!

Do join us at our spring meeting on Tuesday February 11th at 10am at St George’s church Barbourne for worship together and to make crafts and music. Not forgetting our poetry table too. We will continue our focus on 20C martyrs, looking appropraitely at the life of Maximilian Kolbe, a Polish priest who was a prisoner in Auschwitz. I’m sure there will be coffee, lunch and laughter as well as hearing about a serious subject . See you soon.
