Our special Harvest service will be on Sunday 4th October at 9.30am. We are very much looking forward to being joined at this service by many young people from our local Uniformed organisations, together with their parents/ guardians, friends and neighbours.
Once again we will be very grateful to receive any donations for our local foodbank. Please see the harvest wish list below and any items from this list can be donated here at St Mary's or one of the many collection points within the borough before the 4th October if you are not able to attend the service itself.
Please join us in the hall for refreshments after this service. We have disabled access ground floor toilets very near the hall entrance and baby changing facilities. There is also a 'Children's corner' you are very welcome to make use of at any time during the service( or indeed at any of our services) should little ones become restless. We ALWAYS warmly welcome you to bring young children to any service. They are a gift and a blessing to us all.

Foodbanks provide so much more than just food in these challenging times...providing an all encompassing vital service to those most vulnerable at this time in our communities. Please do support them in any way you are able at any time.

🤔 So.....how do food banks actually work?

Food banks like ours provide emergency food and practical support to people facing hardship.

When people come through our doors, we always offer a warm welcome, a cuppa and a chance to chat.

We double check any dietary requirements people may have and invite them to choose their food, including things like cereal, pasta, soup and tinned veg, along with fresh produce and toiletries.

We also offer practical support with things like money matters, housing and mental health.

It’s not right that so many people are finding it hard to get by right now.

But when times are tough, we’re here to provide compassionate and dignified support.

WE BELIEVE THAT FAMILY MATTERS..Our Vicar, Joshva, shares his thoughts.
'' Not only the family to which we are born, but also the wider family we become through God's love. The church of God's household, where everyone is welcomed, valued and cared for . Jesus said, '' Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and my mother''. ( Matthew 12: 50).Those words remind us that God's family is open to everyone. Whether you come as a family, on your own, are recently widowed, new to the area, or are searching for hope and community, there is a place for you here.
We celebrate Baptisms, Weddings and Anniversaries with joy, and we stand alongside families during illness, bereavement and times of difficulty. We listen without judgement, pray for those who seek support and offer friendship to anyone who feels alone. If you have no family nearby, or if life has taken an unexpected turn, we hope you will discover that here you are welcomed into a church family that reflects the love of Christ.
Whether you are looking for friendship, a place for quiet reflection. support through a difficult season, or simply a community where you can belong, you will always receive a warm welcome at St Mary's. Here, family is not defined simply by blood or surname, but by the love of God that brings people together. We believe that everyone matters, everyone has a place, and together we continue to grow as one family in Christ, sharing hope, compassion and peace with one another. We look forward to welcoming everyone to several special services''
