Christianity Explored

Why do Christians believe there really is good news? What is life really all about? Join seven conversations exploring what Christianity has to say.

Short films will kick off the discussion each time, suggesting Christianity not a set of ideas, rules or philosophies, but about the person at the heart of it – Jesus Christ. Through the seven sessions, we will be introduced to the person of Jesus as we go through the Gospel of Mark, the earliest account of his life. We explore why he came, and what it means for us today.

We all have our own ideas about what life is about and how to live it well. So, come with your questions, but be prepared – the answers you discover may not be what you expected.

Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes. The course is being offered in two venues this autumn:

Please take some time out and visit Christ Church this summer to experience our Lord's Prayer Trail. Take time to reflect at our Font, Altar, Stainglas windows and other interesting features.

Notice of work to be carried out at Christ Church week commencing Monday 27 April 2026

We wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the essential redecoration work being carried out on the inside of Christ Church.

There will be lorries stopping to drop off equipment from Monday 27 April 2026 when the clean down inside the church will commence before redecoration.

Scaffolding is being erected inside the church on Tuesday 05 May 2026 after which work will commence to paint the ceilings and walls of the church.

During this period, normal Sunday services will continue as usual, but the church will not be open for quiet reflection on weekdays.
