"This is one reason why I believe the Church sometimes needs to say its welcome out loud.
A principle that has increasingly shaped my theology is this:
When hatred grows louder, love cannot simply remain quiet. “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12.21) Love must become louder."

What might the Bible’s ancient texts mean for the way we live together in 2026?

This autumn, Exploring Faith offers a welcoming space to consider some fascinating—and sometimes challenging—biblical passages. Together, we will explore questions of slavery, women, sexuality, race, disability and neurodiversity, asking how these texts might speak to life today.
You do not need any previous knowledge, a church background or settled beliefs. Come with your questions, listen to different perspectives and join the conversation.

Everyone is welcome.
11 am Saturdays at St Luke's Whyteleafe twice a month!
