🔔 Congratulations to our Altar Servers on their enrolment into the Guild of St Stephen today!

In a beautiful enrolment ceremony at both Masses today, Fr. Steven presented each altar server with their Guild medal, which they will wear every time they serve at Mass.

He expressed our parish's deep appreciation for their service, recognising their vital ministry and the wonderful contribution they make to our worship.

We pray for them in a special way today:
May they continue to be faithful in their service at the altar, and may they always grow in faith, hope, and love. Amen. 🙏🏻

Take a look at the incredible details on these clerical stoles! Earlier this week, Fr Joe shared a moving reflection at our Women’s Social Group, bringing along these unique stoles crafted by weavers from Belgium, USA, and Jerusalem.

The images woven into the fabric carry a powerful message: love, peace, and togetherness across every nation and culture.

Fr Joe’s presentation reminded us how deeply connected we all are in faith and shared humanity. A wonderful, uplifting afternoon for our parish community! 🙏🏻

✨The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner!🧑‍🎄 Save the date for our Parish Christmas Fair on Sunday, November 27th at St. Michael’s Hall.

To help make the day a success, we would be so grateful for any contributions. A few popular ideas include: bottles for the tombola, gift sets, cakes and biscuits, and children’s toys and games (new or used).

Donation boxes have been set up in the entrance porch of both churches. Thank you so much for your kind support and generosity.🙏

We are not made to go through life alone! Each of us has a place in God’s family - and when we come to Mass, we take our place in this family - among friends and strangers who, through baptism, are our brothers and sisters.

It’s in this immeasurable gift of family and community that we learn how to love, to forgive, to care for one another, and know who God is.

In today's Gospel, Jesus reminds us that when things go wrong in our relationships, we shouldn't be tempted to give up. Reconciliation doesn't come with the push of a button, it comes with prayer, patience, and compassion.

May we continue to support one another in prayer so that we can always look outward in Jesus' name to the world around us.

✝️ Every time we gather in worship, we are privileged to see this magnificent Cross. A powerful reminder that this is how much God loves us! That there is such a thing as fresh starts with God and with one another. 🙏🏻

For us as Catholics, the Cross is a reminder of Jesus' self-giving love and the vast extent of the open arms of the love of God for all people, for all time.

A reminder that beyond suffering, there is the eternal love and salvation of God!

We pray as we hear the Gospel this week that, with Peter, we can fully and deeply understand what the Cross of Christ means for us now, here today in the ups and downs of our lives. 🙏🏻

We are not walking this road alone. We are brothers and sisters of Jesus, encouraging and affirming one another in faith.

Today’s Gospel question - “Who do you say I am?” - is a question we are asked, day in and day out in the circumstances of our lives.

And we answer this question simply by being the people that we are: brothers and sisters of Jesus, in the words and actions of our lives. Doing the best we can in Jesus' name!

May we live out our baptismal calling, always answering in word and in deed that Jesus is for us the Christ, the Son of the living God.🙏🏻

On the doorstep of heaven is a Mother who waits for us, who helps us, and who calls us to fix our gaze on the glory of Heaven. ✨

This great Feast of the Assumption reminds us that faith - even in adversity - is never in vain, that God’s promises are trustworthy, and that nothing can ever separate us from the love of God for us in Jesus.

Today in a special way, we ask for Our Lady's prayers for our entire parish family, that she may guide us ever closer to her Son.

Our Lady, Queen of Heaven, pray for us! 🙏

When life feels like too much, may we learn to keep our focus on Jesus. That is the message of today's Gospel.

The journey of life and faith is not without storms - struggles, anxieties, pain...
We are all on the same boat.

When Peter takes his eyes off Jesus and focuses on his own frailties, he sinks. Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus brings us to a place of trust and deep-rooted awareness that even in the storms of life, God's abiding presence is always with us.

It's that heartfelt knowledge and assurance that Jesus is calling us to.

May we keep our eyes and our hearts fixed on Jesus. 🙏🏻

Five loaves. Two fish. Thousands of hungry people. Yet, instead of worrying about the shortage, Jesus gave thanks to God first.

As Fr. Steven highlighted in his homily today: "Before there’s even enough, Jesus prays to God in gratitude. Gratitude is a great spiritual gift. From thanksgiving to God, the miracle unfolds."

So often in our communities, families, and situations, we can feel inadequate or ill-equipped to do what the Lord calls us to do. The encouragement for us this week is to start with gratitude.

Place it all into God's hands in faith, in hope, and in love - and remember, the grace of God is enough.🙏
