The last of our four advent themes was Presence and our windows chose different ways to interpret this, from a play on the different spellings of presents/presence to a star heralding the presence of a new hope. If you'd like to catch up on the extra resources available on the QR code posters, click...

Congratulations to the children of Mulberry and Chestnut classes at Wheatley Primary, led by Mrs Snow, for a beautiful stained-glass-style window featuring a dove symbolising peace. The whole school has been thinking about the dove as a focus for class worship over the past term, so it was a fitting...

Day 10. Elizabeth Hess writes:
“Our window continues the theme of justice.
The rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant - and kept promises are the basis of justice. It also references the struggles the world has faced with Covid & that we have two doctors in the house. The rounded of Madonna & Child is (very loosely) based on the St Mary’s stained glass window. The birth of Jesus fulfils the words of the prophet Isaiah which references peace. We also have a baby born this year. Finally the words from the Magnificat, spoken by Mary, are so powerful, that they have inspired people, against the odds, to bring down despotic & cruel regimes. She spoke these words as a vulnerable woman, finding she was with child, in the knowledge that she was in a weak & defenceless position but was to be the mother of the Saviour. They are words of patience & strength.”

If any of you can echo this question overheard the other day by a puzzled onlooker trying to figure out what to do with the 'barcode' poster in a window, here's the secret! Most of the windows are displaying a QR code poster (the funny barcode thing!) either in their window display or nearby outside...

Some of our justice-themed windows from last week - check out the QR code activities by clicking on the link https://www.adventurewheatley.org.uk/week-2-justice

Football (Dec 11th) proved an unlikely backdrop to demonstrate jus...

"I wanted to portray in my window my belief that Christmas is a time for giving and the biggest gift we can give is justice for the whole earth. So often this season can be one of indulgence, but it is my firm hope that we can shift the balance and give ‘green’ presents where possible, leaving a...

Day 3: Becky Paton writes: "My window comprises of 4 discoballs I’ve made and some coloured lights. I wanted a window that would gently ‘do something’ but not be a danger to any traffic. I sell these disco balls and decorations, if anyone is keen they could email me at [email protected]. Honoured to be part of the trail again this year, I’ve only been thinking about it for….ummmm…..11 months. 😂😂😂"
