Thank you to all those who supported our latest event. Somewhat low-key compared with some of our events but a great opportunity to get to know our visitors better and to have some serious conversations about human beings and their effect on our precious planet. It's good to know you're with us. Thank you.

We believe that human beings should be doing more to care for our environment and protect our precious planet. That's why we signed up for A Rocha's Eco Church Scheme. It's helping us to discover more ways to be eco-friendly and fuels our commitment to do more as we progress through the scheme - achieving bronze status is only the first step.
Tomorrow, at our coffee morning, we'll not just be celebrating our bronze award but sharing with you how we achieved that and what we have changed to help our environment and planet.
If you too believe that we humans should be doing more for our planet, please come along to our coffee morning tomorrow (11am to 12 noon) to show your support (and maybe leave with more ideas how you too can be more eco-friendly).

Thank you, Colton, for your tremendous response (again) in supporting our plant sale over the weekend.
Ok, yes, we had to return some of the plants to the nursery because we'd over-ordered; but that's ok because it meant that none of you left disappointed because we hadn't got what you were looking for!
Hopefully, that applied to the cakes as well 😉

Wow! Thank you to all those who came to support us today at the Plant Sale.

If you missed it, good news.
We upped the order so we still have some stock left (including some of the amazing hanging baskets!) So, the final chance this year to stock up on great plants at great prices is:

Just one thing…

We’re hoping that by now, we’ve persuaded you to join us at the Plant Sale on Saturday. It will go ahead, come rain or shine (& it’s all undercover, so if it rains you have the perfect excuse to shelter in the coffee room with all the cake…)

But there is just one more thing. When you come along, could you bring along something for our foodbank collection? Just one thing. Because we’re lucky to have loads of people support us at the Plant Sale, so if we all bring ‘just one thing’ then we’ll collect loads. Colton, you have always done us proud when we’ve asked before, please help us again to help those who need it.

It’s nearly here! The posters are up & the leaflets (thanks to LGP Print www.lgpprint.com for those) have been delivered. If you haven’t seen either of those then please consider this your invitation!

Now, the biggest writing on the poster is ‘Plant Sale’ but if we’re honest, many people will just be coming along for the cake. It seems that over the years, we acquired a bit of a reputation & why not? Our bakers are brilliant! (& nearly all of the cakes, biscuits & goodies we serve are homemade) so why not call in? There’ll be vegan, gluten free, savoury & healthy options available.

If you’re used to paying £s for a piece of cake & a hot drink, or worried about the total for you & the kids to have a drink & a treat, we’ve got good news for you. All we ask is that, after you’ve enjoyed your goodies, you donate as you feel. If you’d like to donate what you’d usually pay, it will be gratefully received but we’re equally happy for you to come along, catch up with a friend or spend time with family & donate what you feel you can.
All are welcome.

Some of you may have seen them!!!

As the days started to get longer, they started to appear. Since Easter more & more have been spotted in Colton with their bright yellow petals grabbing the attention of passers-by. Yep, it’s that time of year again – the Plant Sale posters are out!

Last year was a sell out, so this year we’ve upped the order (again!)

Same great supplier, so still great plants. Same great bakers (newbies always welcome!), so still great cakes. Same friendly volunteers running the event (newbies always welcome!), so still a great atmosphere.

Plant Sale & Coffee Morning @ Colton Methodist Church on 16th May from 10am – 12 noon. Come & join us!
