161 years ago a group of local Christians met together in the local Almshouse to worship God. They formed the Wanstead Congregational Church, now known as Wanstead United Reformed. Church

On Sunday 31st May we will celebrate our Anniversary.

Do join us for worship at 10.30 a.m. followed by a 'bring and share' buffet lunch.

Today, on Whit Sunday, we have been celebrating Pentecost when the first Christians experienced God's Holy Spirit. So here's a thought for the day.......

I said to God, ‘How can I know this Spirit I cannot see?’
And God replied, ‘Have you marvelled at the vibrancy of my teeming creation?
Have you stood in awe before the power of the sea?
Have you listened to the stillness of the summer evening?
Have you known the reassurance of a friend’s arm around your shoulder?
Have you felt the warm breath of a lover, the gentleness of a kiss on your cheek?
Have you known the eagerness of a child running towards you with outstretched arms?
The impatience of the thirst for justice, the pain of suffering, the fire of passion?’
‘Of course I have known them.’
'Then take my Spirit and know them as you have never known before.'

"Sir David Attenborough turns 100 and Mini Mozart is celebrating with a live music nature adventure for babies and toddlers at classes next week from 5th May.

With David as our guide, children will explore birds, insects, giant animals and the wonderful sounds of the natural world, all through live music, familiar songs, movement and bubbles.

Animal dress-up is very much encouraged. Ears, tails, wings, spots, stripes all welcome.

We join with Christians around the world in congratulating Sarah Mullally as the first woman to be installed as Archbishop of Canterbury and pray God’s blessing on her ministry.

It was a joy to see our Minister, Rev. Dr. Tessa Henry-Robinson taking part in the service on behalf of the free churches and Churches Together
