In today's fabulous Creation Sunday talk, along with reminding us when her birthday is, Linda explained how, when we are generous with whatever we have, (our time, material wealth, prayers a kind word, and so on), God's abundance flows freely through us to others, and back to HIM in thanksgiving.

And how inspiring are the young generation of eco-warriors in our Kids Church?🙏🌎💚💪Litter-picking in our corner of the world and setting us oldies a Jesus-like example to follow!
Every blessing to everyone, whatever you have ahead of you this week! ❤️🙏✝️

This morning's talk was a proper belter!
Linda explained how Daniel, although alone and understandably afraid, during what must have been the longest night of his life in the lion's den, had enough resilience to endure it. Because he knew and trusted in God.
The God he had relationship with.
The God who he prayed 3 times a day to.
A daily discipline of prayer, through which he'd developed a habit of trusting God.
The God who is with him in the darkness.
Fast forward to the dawn some years later.
The Sermon on the Mount.
Where Jesus speaks blessings to a crowd looking for something only knowing him can give.
The Beatitudes.
Sometimes called "The Beautiful Attitudes".
Daniel had pretty much retired when he found himself put in charge of the administration of the whole kingdom, a kingdom that his faith was at odds with.
Sound familiar?
Maintaining your integrity in the workplace can be a bit lonely, challenging, and sometimes downright exhausting.
Following Jesus can sometimes feel "out of step" with the folk around us.
Lord, help us not to come across as "holier than thou" - (not a good look at all)!
This week Lord, give us the resilience that Daniel had, so we can practice some of those beautiful attitudes Jesus blesses those who stay close to him with.
Lord, help us to be gentle, merciful, courageous and patient.
To trust that you are with us, in whatever lion's den we find ourselves in during the week ahead.

Following on from last Sunday, have you noticed the Spirit nudging you this week to remember our brothers and sisters around the world who won't get to worship in public, and in safety tomorrow?
❤️🙏🔓🙏✝️⚖️🙏🔓🙏❤️
God, we pray for Christians around the world who face persecution because they follow you, sustain them with courage, peace and unshakeable hope.
Bring resolution and healing, freedom and shalom to your Church.

Amen.🙏

Reverend Lizzy beautifully re-told the story of Esther this morning.
An account of a vulnerable, scared young woman, who found the courage, through her faith in God, to step forward and speak up for her people, (the jews), knowing that it could cost her life.
What did she do first?
She prayed.
Not on her own.
She gave a rallying call, mobilising her people in prayer.
For 3 days and 3 nights, she and her people, became an army that marched on it's knees.
Then, Esther stepped forward.
Alone. Still scared. But trusting in God.
It'd take about half an hour to read Esther's story, so why not set aside a bit of time this week to read and reflect on the actions of this ordinary woman who God raised up to do something quite extraordinary.
📖🙏❤️✝️❤️🙏 👑
Esther's story reminds us how prayer reaches the places we can't get to.
Our prayers can cross borders.
Our prayers can flow into states where our brothers and sisters are persecuted.
Our prayers can wash over places where power is used by a selfish few to exploit the vulnerable.
🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏🌏🙏❤️🙏❤️
Where are you praying for God's healing in the world this week?
Where can you be God's light in the world (or Wakey), this week?
🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏🌏🙏❤️🙏❤️
May God bless you and keep you this coming week, along with our brothers and sisters living under oppressive regimes, for who the simple act of "liking" a faith-based Facebook post, could cost them everything.
🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏🌏🙏❤️🙏❤️
