Tyne Valley Wild Church An outdoors expression of church to enable people of all ages to encounter God through nature

Inspired by the work we did a couple of years ago on the idea of wild church, I have created in my own garden a prayer area. We had a dedication prayer with my home church , County Durham Christian Life Centre, on Sunday afternoon 3rd Nov and ended up with a short worship time accompanied by the candles that edged the prayer walk. Thank you Paul for leading a lovely afternoon at Shepherds Dene.

Wild Church was........a slow contemplative walk in beautiful countryside...............the tops of tall trees swaying by the brook but their roots were firmly grounded and not moved by the winds at all........... a rope labyrinth carefully laid out today on the old tennis court so that we could walk through and review our personal journey so far and then walk out again saying "yes" to whatever adventure God has for us in future.......a turf labyrinth laid out years ago and that has seen countless Christians walk before us, we walked in their footsteps and also created new ones of our own as the joy of the Lord welled up in us.........the twists and turns of life are in God's hands and at the time we do not always see the picture He is creating in our lives but we can trust Him to hold us safe as we journey.......enjoying the meetings we have with fellow travellers on the way .......seeing the ancient labyrinth pattern carved out in a wooden sculpture that could be traced with our finger........a brand new labyrinth created from pine cones as we spent our wild church time together........

Followed by delicious tea and cake.
