Is Meditation outdated? Read on -
In the evolving landscape of self-mastery and mental discipline, traditional meditation stands as a relic—respected, but ultimately surpassed. The Church of Rational Satanism champions autonomy, personal growth, and unflinching honesty with the self. From this standpoint, we must challenge any ritual, no matter how ancient or sacred, when it no longer serves the individual effectively. Meditation, in its classical form, is one such ritual.
Rooted in religious and spiritual traditions that often promote submission, detachment from desire, and ego death, traditional meditation can undermine the Satanic values of individual will, passion, and self-actualisation. While it promises peace, it often delivers passivity. It asks us to empty the mind rather than sharpen it, to quiet the self rather than empower it. In a world that demands awareness, action, and mental agility, such stillness becomes a liability.
Modern cognitive science and psychology have outpaced mysticism. Tools like cognitive behavioural therapy, neurofeedback, and biohacking offer results that are measurable and adaptive—tools aligned with Rational Satanism’s emphasis on knowledge and self-determination. Mindfulness, stripped of mysticism, can still be valuable—but not as a rote, silent endurance exercise. Instead, focused reflection, strategic visualisation, and even productive self-talk provide a far more potent path toward clarity and control.
We do not meditate to vanish—we act to evolve. Rational Satanism replaces outdated silence with informed strategy. Meditation is not evil; it is simply obsolete.
