At St Laurence we love to welcome groups of children or adults who would like to look around the church and learn more about its history and identity as a place of Christian worship. It was wonderful to welcome Year 1 from Branfil School recently who were very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inquisitive!

Year 1 visited Saint Laurence Church in Upminster. They explored the church discovered lots of wooden mice carved into the pews. They liked looking at the stained glass windows and asking lots of questions.

Today is the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Day of Thanksgiving for the Institution of Holy Communion.

There will be a Mass at 7pm tonight at All Saints', Cranham, to which all members of St Laurence are also welcome.

Lord Jesus Christ,
we thank you that in this wonderful sacrament
you have given us the memorial of your passion:
grant us so to reverence the sacred mysteries
of your body and blood
that we may know within ourselves
and show forth in our lives
the fruits of your redemption;
for you are alive and reign with the Father
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
