We look forward to welcoming babies and pre-school age children and their families for free play, themed activities, singing, bubbles & fun! We are the baby and toddler group run for the community by All Saints Church, Highertown, Truro. We met in our brand new building- The Lifehouse- next door to the church. Our session is held in the beautiful light, warm and welcoming new hall. Doors open for
the session at 10am and we finish at 11.30 am. Please register with our Welcomer as you come in, as this is required in case we have to evacuate the building for any reason. Children remain the responsibility of parents/carers throughout the session, although our lovely team of volunteers from ASH are of course here to help you. All our volunteers are DBS checked and have undertaken relevant Safeguarding training. We have a different table activity each week (seasonal craft, playdough, construction, toy food) and every week we have a soft play enclosure and a Happy Land/dollies enclosure. Hot drinks are available by the servery hatch. At about 11.10 we put on our 'Tidy Up' song and we all help to put the toys and resources back into their boxes. The children then sit on the rug, with the soft cushions, for singing time. We sing a range of well known children's songs that are easy to learn and will help the children learn about the world and God. The songs are always great fun and include actions, clapping, sound effects and puppets. After singing time we put on the bubble machine and dance to 'Creator God' or 'I'm Going to Jump Up and Down'. We then gather to make a circle and finish the session by saying the Grace to each other and the children run/swing/dance in on the 'Amen'. We also have special sessions for Harvest, Advent, Christmas, Easter, Mothering Sunday and Fathers' Day when we will make seasonal crafts and share a story and songs. Some weeks we get out the parachute and enjoy parachute games instead of singing time. The group is ideally suited for parents and carers with children aged 0-4. Attendance is free and you don't need to book, but if you would like to put a donation in our donation pot we would be very grateful and we can put this towards new resources for the group. We have car parking available in the front and rear car parks and you can bring your buggy inside and 'park' it in our 'buggy park' in the hall. There is also a bus stop right outside the entrance. Baby changing facilities are available in the ladies and gents toilets. Please take any used nappies home with you as we don't have the facility to dispose of them, thank you. On the rare occasion we need to cancel the session this information will be posted on this page, The Church's website and What's On For Babies and Kids in Cornwall, UK page.
