Funeral Service for the dear Nancy Parkinson

As many may already know, sadly our lovely Nancy passed away. She was surrounded by her family. Nancy was a huge part of St Alban’s Church and Trimdon Grange.

MEETING WITH GOD AND WITH OURSELVES IN SILENCE AND STILLNESS

Many people appreciate times of quiet and reflection as a balance to the busyness of life. The Parish of the Upper Skerne offers two meditation sessions each week as a welcoming space for anyone seeking stillness and a deeper sense of peace. On Wednesdays at 10am a group meets online and on Sundays at 6pm a group meets
in church (May – September at St Mary Magdalene, Trimdon Village and October – April at St Catherine’s, Fishburn). For details contact Robert Cooper: M: 07933130916 or email [email protected]

Each session begins with a short reflection, offering a thought or theme to guide the heart and mind. This is followed by 20 minutes of shared, companionable silence. Each person has time to be still, to listen and simply to “be” without pressure or expectation, whilst silently supported by others seeking the same things.

Anyone is always welcome to come and discover what they make of it.

Kate and Anthony were the proud parents of Daisy Callachan at the 4th Baptism service held in St Edmund's this year, which was led by Rachel Wilson.
Kate and Anthony were joined by their local family and friends and told me it was a lovely service with Daisy on best behaviour and proud brothers Albie and Lenny watching on.
Kate chose her Mum's charity to be Guide Dogs for the Blind Association as the charity is close to their hearts. Daisy’s Auntie (Kate’s sister) unfortunately lost her vision at the age of 15. She has
recently been matched with her new Guide dog called Luna who was at the church for Daisy’s baptism.
St Edmund's wishes Daisy and her family continued good health in the future, and we look to welcome them back to St Edmund's over the coming years.

Proud parents Sian and Arron were joined by family and friends at the 5th Baptism service held in St Edmund's this year, which was led by David Lucas.
Everyone present had a wonderful time, Kai was on best behaviour and proud ‘cousins’ Elsie-Mae, Jay-J, Deacon, Bailey and Harley-James watched on.
Nearly everyone travelled from afar to get to Kai’s Baptism: Gramps, Grandma and 2 Aunties from Ipswich, Godparents Brooke from Maidstone, Lauren from Cambridge and Anthony, Sian advises, is scouse – so you know where he travelled from!
Kai’s Nana lives locally but along with others were in the Bell Tower ringing the bells for the baptism to celebrate his special day.
Sian chose her Mum's charity to be MIND as charity is very important to her and the family.
St Edmund's wishes Sian, Arron and Kai good health in the future and we look to welcome them back to St Edmund's over the coming years.
