Corpus Christi Church in Tremeirchion was full this morning as we came together as a Mission Area to commission our new pastoral assistants and celebrate 25 years of Canon Peter Wkyes priestly ministry amongst us.

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday when we think about God being one God, but 3 persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
It is also the 5th Sunday of the month so there will be no service in Trefnant as we are having a joint service in Tremeirchion at 10:30. We will be celebrating 25 years of Peter Wkyes priestly ministry as well as commissioning new pastoral assistants. Everyone welcome

Do you need some herbs for your cooking? The herbs in the planters outside Corpus Christi, Tremeirchion, are growing at a rate of knots.
Please do take what you need.

Feeling the heat?
Our churches provide a lovely cool haven on hot summer days.
Everyone welcome to pop inside to cool down!
At the back of both churches are 'Welcome Pods' providing a selection of drinks and light refreshments in return for a small donation to the church.

Trefnant Church needs your help!
To keep the church open every day costs about £500 a week, or £24,000 a year. For the past few years we have been running at a deficit of about £6000. We now only have enough reserves left to keep the doors open to the end of 2026.

To ensure the building is kept open for future generations, and not sold off, we need to raise an extra £6000 a year. If the building closes we will no longer be able to offer weddings, funerals, baptisms, a quiet space to light a candle during the week, a space for the school to have their Christmas, Easter or Harvest concerts and services. Not to mention events like the Queen's Jubilee picnic, Prayers and Bears, Prayers and Create, the Medieval Banquet and Traditional Craft Fair.

We know that everyone is having to tighten their budgets with the increasing cost of living. However, if every person in Trefnant could contribute £6 a year we can keep the church open. We are therefore asking if households are able to contribute £2 a month (£24 a year) to help us keep the building open for everybody.

One off donations can be made at https://givealittle.co/c/HolyTrinityTrefnant1

If you are able to contribute on a regular basis please can you sign up at https://www.churchinwales.org.uk/en/clergy-and-members/gift-direct/start-donating-your-church-or-parish/ (our church is Denbigh, Holy Trinity, Trefnant

Donations can also be left in the wall box just inside the door of the church.

We are incredibly grateful for all the support you give us - and please do come along to our Whitsun Picnic in the Village Hall at 12:15pm on Sunday 24th May.

Corpus Christi Church in Tremeirchion is the only medieval church in the UK dedicated to Corpus Christi. The festival of Corpus Christi is celebrated on 4th June each year. This year we are throwing open the doors and inviting you to join us for a day of festivities on Saturday 6th June.

Corpus Christi means the Body of Christ which we remember each week in services by sharing bread with one another.
So we are inviting you to enter our bread making competition (for over 16s), or a sandwich making competition (for under 16s). Drop them into church at 10am on 6th June ready for judging.

We also think of Jesus Christ as being the Word of God. We are privileged to have a Vinegar Bible from 1717 on display in the church. There will also be other ancient bibles and the historical church registers on display. Come and find your ancestors!

The 6th June is the start of the Church Hunt For Nature Week so (weather permitting) there will be lots of hunts for bugs and wildlife in the church yard. We will be running another competition for children to draw their favourite bug (or another of God's creatures). Bring them along ready drawn or draw one on the day.

There will be other family friendly activities on the day.

We will be selling cakes and drinks all day in the Old School. However, the 6th June is also the Village Market morning in the Old School. So come and grab your pies, sausage rolls and cakes in the market (in the morning only).

We are currently raising money to replace the church roof (approximately £500,000). There will be no charge for the activities as we would just love to get the village together for a day, but if you are able to make a donation to help save our church we would be very grateful.
