We’re doing things differently today celebrating James Day with an outdoor service at 3pm! It’s a bit breezy but everyone is very welcome, plus there’s a cream tea afterwards! Look forward to seeing you😊

We are really excited and looking forward to being part of Charter Fair again this Saturday celebrating the world’s best selling book of all time THE BIBLE 🎉🎉
We’ll be down on the High St with a special Bible Book Buzz wire game, giving out free Bibles and enjoying the fun on the High St !

But don’t forget if you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the High St action, pop into St James Church and enjoy a warm welcome, delicious homemade cakes, good coffee, cold drinks and a calm, friendly space to recharge your batteries.

Don’t forget that tomorrow, Sunday 31st May, we’ll be meeting at 10.30am in Holy Trinity Church, Denford for a Benefice Service.

We will be marking Trinity Sunday, the day on which Denford church was dedicated many centuries ago. It looks as if the weather is going to be dry, so it should be a lovely day to walk if you are coming from Islip or Thrapston! We look forward to welcoming you!

Happy Easter! The Lord has risen! We had the joy of celebrating as the sun rose this morning at St Nicholas, Islip. Do join us later at St James, Thrapston for breakfast at 9.00 am and an Easter Communion service at 9.30 am or later still at Holy Trinity, Denford at 11.15 am. Everyone is welcome!

We are so looking forward to celebrating Easter with a selection of different services tomorrow!

We’ll be getting up early for a 6.00am dawn service in the churchyard of St Nicholas, Islip.

If 6.00 am is too early 😉then why not join us at 9.00am for breakfast in St James, Thrapston, before a 9.30am celebratory Communion Service.

If you need a bit more of a lie in then there is an 11.15am service at Holy Trinity Denford. We really hope that you might join us for one of the many ways to celebrate this Easter

We had the privilege of hosting a youth event with OCCA (Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics). A huge thanks to Ben Thomas and Liv Ramsay from OCCA for their time. What a joy to have over 100 young people from different churches within the area worshiping together and having the chance to debate the “Big Questions” affecting us all as Christians! A brilliant evening 🤩

So many of our followers take an interest in our church buildings so we thought you might like an update on the work that has just been completed at St James, Thrapston. Inspections of our church buildings take place every 5 years and a leaking roof was one of several urgent requirements identified back in 2019. We are really delighted that the work has now finished with the scaffolding due to come down tomorrow. It’s incredibly hard to find qualified people who are experienced to work on listed buildings and we’re very grateful to the super helpful guys from The Leadworks (UK) who have completed the work for us! Here’s hoping for no more buckets dotted around the church building!!

Denford Carol service is at 4pm at Holy Trinity and Thrapston Carol service with be candlelit with festive refreshments at 6.30pm at St James. We would love to welcome you as we begin the week of celebrating the birth of Jesus!

As we continue our build up to Christmas, this weekend we have a special Christmas Tree 🎄 Festival taking place at Holy Trinity Church Denford during day light hours. Come and visit a glittering display of trees decorated on the theme of “My Favourite Song” and join us at 4pm on Sunday 14th for a Christingle service among the twinkling lights!
