We are blessed by prayer, and we, in turn, pray for the whole church around the world, the diocese, but especially for the people of Sutton.

We are all set for a wonderful Sunday with the church decorated to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Mothers’ Union. We have also been getting ready for the Annual Inspection of the Gibson Tomb and putting up the supporting exhibition.

The service was led by the Bishop of Croydon, Rt Revd Dr Rosemarie Mallett, with an introduction by the Archdeacon of Reigate, the Ven Geoff Dumbreck.

It was very well attended, and it was wonderful to welcome so many people to the occasion.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Monday evening for the Licensing of the Reverend Allen Bower as Rector of St Nicholas Church.

We hope that all enjoyed the service and the opportunity to welcome Allen to his new ministry in central Sutton. For those less familiar with Church of England services, I also hope that the ceremony, its traditions and the movement around the church were not too confusing!
