Dduw Hollalluog,
a alwaist dy was Dafydd
i fod yn stiward ffyddlon a doeth ar dy ddirgelion
dros bobl Cymru:
yn dy drugaredd, caniatâ,
gan ddilyn ei burdeb bywyd a'i sêl dros efengyl Crist,
y gallwn gydag ef dderbyn coron bywyd tragwyddol;
trwy Iesu Grist dy Fab ein Harglwydd,
sydd yn fyw ac yn teyrnasu gyda thi,
yn undod yr Ysbryd Glân,
un Duw, yn awr ac am byth.
Amen

Almighty God,
who called your servant David
to be a faithful and wise steward of your mysteries
for the people of Wales:
in your mercy, grant that,
following his purity of life and zeal for the gospel of Christ,
we may with him receive the crown of everlasting life;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

We’re getting ready!

Rydym yn paratoi!

This was shared into a Welsh based group by Cliff Hughes. In it, five Welsh women can be seen in traditional Welsh clothing holding strays with "London Welsh Flag Day".

The image dates back to World War I and there were many flag days, like the one in the image, conducted with the intention of raising money for causes. A keen eye might notice that the woman in the bottom left has pictures of someone fighting in the war.

The distinctive Welsh headwear is het Gymreig (the Welsh hat). The hat has roots dating back to the 18th century, where it appears to have first been worn.

It wasn't until the 1830s when the hat would become a staple of Welsh feminine attire - becoming part of the "national dress" that can still be observed every Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant (Saint David's Day).

By the turn of the 20th Century, the popularity of the hat had died out, rendering it a historical attire that has become synonymous with Welsh culture.

Step, Cycle, Sip — Save Surrey’s Churches!

The Surrey Churches Preservation Trust (SCPT) invites everyone to join the annual Ride & Stride on Saturday 13 September 2025. This much-loved event is open to all, whether you’re a keen cyclist, a casual walker, or simply someone who enjoys a good coffee morning with friends.

The aim is simple: raise money to protect Surrey’s historic churches. Half of what you raise goes straight to your chosen church and the rest helps fund repair and conservation grants across the county. Since it began, Ride & Stride has raised over £500,000, directly supporting church buildings at the heart of our communities.

This year, SCPT has more grant funding available than ever before—up to £3,000 per church—but to benefit, each church's supporters must take part. Even the smallest event can unlock vital funding.

So step out, cycle on, or put the kettle on—every effort counts.

Thank you.

We are very excited about this excellent course and how it can further encourage the use of our beautiful chapel as a resource for the whole local community. We are pleased to help our friends at Sutton Women's Centre.

Yesterday we had a service of thanksgiving with a difference led by Rev Anthony Williams. The children had baked bread in the shape of various animals and one in the shape of a cross. We made a contribution to the Christian Aid Gaza appeal and in our prayers were made mindful of conflict in the world. During our prayers our senses were awakened by the smell of the bread, evoking our concern for the hungry in our country and making us thankful for what we have in Christ Jesus
