What a beautiful few days we have had celebrating 150 years of our Baptist Church here in Surbiton! From children’s Crafty Church, to a concert featuring West End Has Faith, Hanson Asiedu and the church music group, to a packed service yesterday where we welcomed the Deputy Mayor, Elizabeth Park, and heard Secretary General of the Baptist Union, Lynn Green, preach. All this was finished off with a fellowship lunch in the garden, with people bringing food from around the world, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of our congregation.

Surbiton New Life Baptist Church is a ‘Place where everyone matters. Pray that will be evident over this celebration weekend at the 150th Anniversary Concert this evening and the service of Thanksgiving tomorrow. Pray again for everyone taking part in the concert and service. Pray especially for Julian our Praise and Worship leader who has prayed worked and organised for many weeks that both these events might bring glory to God. Pray that Holy Spirit will be welcomed into the very midst of every event. It is only Holy Spirit that can lead us into Praise and Worship that causes us to become the worshippers the Father is seeking – those who worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
