William Hogarth (1697–1764): Medicine and Morality – Talk by Mike Davidson
Hogarth developed the art form “modern moral subject”. These are several series of paintings and engravings that tell cautionary tales through vivid, often humorous depictions of Georgian life.

Hogarth’s London was a city where wealth, disease, poverty, and immorality intertwined. His art captured the medical and social realities of 18th‑century urban life with biting satire. The talk looks at Hogarths work from both a medical & moral viewpoint.

CHRISTMAS STABLE EXPERIENCE
Sunday 21st December
All ages are welcome to join in with a Christmas service in the Stables behind the Baptist Church. Angel, shepherd and Wise Men costumes are very much encouraged to help children re-imagine the Christmas scene! We will gather at 3.30pm at the front of the chapel ready for the service at 3.45pm. Warm up afterwards in the Schoolroom with tea & cakes.

Do come along for a beverage & some cake. All welcome!
