“When You’re Smiling” The St Botolph, Longthorpe Ukulele Orchestra will be at St Botolph, Helpston starting 4pm on Saturday, September 13th. £10 entrance with the proceeds going to the two churches.

Helpston has another special service Sunday at 10.30 am - “Cafe Church” - come and join in a different form of church, informal and (hopefully) quite spontaneous!

4.30 pm Bainton - "Folk" Communion - a communion service with the acoustic instruments from Barnack's music group, with a little more space for reflection

This Friday (25th) “Prayer During the Day” will be a Communion service for St James’s Day at the Lady Chapel altar in St Botolph’s Helpston. 12.15.

This week's church notices. This Sunday we are marking Trinity Sunday. We have a special visit from the Archdeacon of Oakham, the Ven Alison Booker, at St Botolph's Helpston at 10.45 on Sunday.

4.30 pm Bainton - God in the Garden - the Waters of Baptism

And all our many other activities can be found in the mailshot - especially the Grand Reopening of St Botolph's Helpston after its modernisation.

A special service this Trinity Sunday at Helpston in particular. The Venerable Alison Booker, Archdeacon of Oakham, will be preaching and presiding.

The Replica Turin Shroud has been put in place in St John the Baptist's Church, Barnack and will be here for the next two days 10.30-5. And the thing that strikes you first (it's a full size replica) is how big it is.

The second thing that strikes you is the detail.

Stainer's Crucifixion performed by the Helpston Choir with friends - 6 pm

Today is Maundy Thursday, when Christians remember the institution of the Lord's Supper, or Communion.

Jesus and his disciples share together the Passover. Then moved out into the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus was betrayed by Judas, taken into custody, and tried before the Sanhedrin.

Communion services at Barnack at 6 pm and at Helpston at 8pm (in the Upper Room in Botolph's Barn). Wittering's Communion is at 6.30 pm at All Saints, with a meal and a Watch.

"Spy Wednesday" - when we remember Judas's betrayal.
In Bainton at 7pm tonight we will include a Communion service within the reading of Luke's Gospel, from Judas's initial betrayal to Peter's denial. If the wind drops, the part of the story after the Last Supper will be in the churchyard, as we hear about Jesus's prayers in Gethsemane and trial.
The sky darkens on the story of Holy Week.
