If you're looking to book at baptism at Whitworth Church, please note that the Friday church office (at St Paul's Church Spennymoor) is currently closed for the summer break and will reopen on Friday 4th September, 10:30-11:30am. Whilst the office is closed, enquiries and bookings can be made at St Paul's on a Sunday morning when the church is open for worship (service is 10:30-11:45am).

Alleluia! Christ is risen! We gathered at dawn to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and light the new Paschal Candles. The service also saw the congregation renew their baptism vows. A very happy Easter from us all at Whitworth Church!

The annual Whitworth Church Easter Egg Hunt will be on Easter Monday, 6th April 2-4.30pm. The event will include craft activities for children, stalls and afternoon teas. Come and enjoy having fun at our historic church building and beautiful setting!

As we mark this Good Friday and the events of Christ's death, we're reminded that Easter Day gives us hope in the resurrection. We'll celebrate this with two services on Sunday and we invite you to join us.

6am - Sunrise service and the lighting of the Easter candles
9am - Holy Communion

Wednesday's Holy Week meditation at 7pm takes place here at Whitworth Church and will be led by the Revd Steve Osman.

Meditations for Holy Week begin tonight at 7pm and focus on the events in Jesus' life and teaching in the days before his arrest, trial and death on the cross. We'll be meditating on his actions, teaching and what was said about him as he prepared to die for the sins of the world. The meditations are 30-40 minutes of music, spoken word, prayer and quiet for reflection designed to help us think more deeply about Jesus. These evenings are intended for everyone and do not require any prior experience or skill! Just come open to thinking and praying.
