St Peter & St Paul's Church, Gosberton

St Peter & St Paul's Church, Gosberton We are the Parish Church of St Peter & St Paul, Gosberton. Our phone no is:
07803 875638 There has been a church here for at least a thousand years.

The remains of the earlier Norman Church are visible via specially made trapdoors in the floor. The oldest bell pre-dates the Civil War and from the tower it is possible to see the hills beyond Stamford and also the Wolds. Your church has one of the Fenland’s loftiest spires (176 feet from ground level to the top of the spire) and has many unique features. There is space in the spire (above the to

wer) for over 20 people! The church is a Grade 1 listed medieval building (as is Buckingham Palace and The Houses of Parliament). You can find out more about the church and the wider community by visiting our website at www.gosberton.org. Also see our entry on: https://www.explorechurches.org/church/st-peter-st-paul-gosberton

Here are some photos of a film crew that filmed in Gosberton church last month. They were making a series of training videos for new administrative assistants who work for the Church of England. It was a very interesting day and a lot of fun.

Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

There is a Book of Condolence in Gosberton Parish Church just inside the main doors, for anyone to write a message or memory in. There are also candles you can light and an area to leave any floral tributes. The book will be left in the church until after the funeral has taken place and will then be sent to Buckingham Palace.

The church is open every day from 10am to 4pm.

At last!! The restoration of the church tower clock face starts this coming Monday (22nd) and is expected to finish on Friday 26th August. Smith of Derby will be removing the old metal fixings and fitting new stainless steel brackets to attach the clock to the tower, which will make it safe and secure for years to come.

Then the face of the clock will be restored, painted and re-gilded. It should look amazing. We hope people will come and take some photos. There are some 'before' photos attached here.

There will be a celebratory afternoon tea in the church once this has been done, with trips up the tower for the fit and healthy! The date will be announced soon.
