White Eagle Lodge UK shares White Eagle's vision of a camp fire:
"Dear friends, we should like you to come with us on a journey! Close your eyes, close your senses to the outer world, and imagine we are all sitting around a camp fire under a starlit sky with the brotherhood of nature.
The scene we depict is in fact quite familiar to many of you, and it will not be very difficult for you to go back in memory to the times when we all assembled in a large circle, sitting upon Mother Earth, watching the camp fire burning in our midst, smelling the perfumes of the earth and the pines and the flowers and the woods; looking up to the canopy of heaven, gazing on the twinkling stars.
These were more to the Indian brothers than little lights in the sky, for they represented those powers of God which can destroy and recreate. We learnt to accept all that God sent to us as being good, for we understood that the Great White Spirit, all love and wisdom, was in supreme command; we knew that the great planetary beings and angels, right down to our nature spirits, all obeyed the command of the Great White Spirit.
Picture, then, all the brethren gathered in the hush of the evening, listening to the orchestra of nature; the wind in the pines, the murmur of the insects and the faint twitter of birds and little cries of furry beasts, beaver and rat and all the tiny creatures of the water and woods - all one great brotherhood, living under the protection and by the love of the invisible power, the Great White Spirit.
Even as we gazed up into the heavens, to the stars, they spoke to our innermost heart of love, of brotherhood, of peace ...
In this present cycle and in your generation, you are so clothed with civilization that you are shut away from this contact, through nature, with the Great White Spirit; and because you are cut off from the direct contact with nature, you suffer from nerve strain, which sometimes develops into disease; you suffer from all kinds of strange diseases which even your brilliant medical men and women are unable to define.
And still the soul longs for this unknown comfort and strength from the source of life. You endeavour to contact this glorious Spirit through your mind, but in the old days we tapped it directly through our senses. Human kind has again to learn the use of the five senses, for through the five senses (which are allied to vortices of power in the etheric body) can be drawn wonderful spiritual power and life force..."
