Eco Tip of the week- Choose Fairtrade. Buying fairtrade is saying ‘yes’ to social, economic and environmental standards for the companies and farmers involved in the supply chain. We’re coming to the end of Fairtrade Fortnight (21 Feb - 6 March) but there is still time to take a look at the online ‘Choose the world you want’ Fairtrade Fortnight festival. The festival is an excellent opportunity to learn more about how fairtrade provides secure and sustainable livelihoods for our global neighbours. visit

Fairtrade Fortnight 21 Feb to 6 March 2022 celebrates the farmers and workers who grow the world's food and promotes fair trade.

Being the eco-friendly person that you are, I am sure you have already invested in a reusable coffee cup, but do you remember to take it with you when you go out? Many coffee shops give a discount for using a reusable cup so it's another win-win for you and the environment!

Perhaps you have other thoughts?

I have not read the full IPCC report that was published yesterday, so I will comment on that another day, but for now this is a reminder that the biggest and best step we can all do to save the planet is to reduce our consumption, and reuse things as many times as possible.

I know I still need to do more to reduce my consumption of products and plastic products - watch this space as I investigate….
