The call, shape and evidence of repentance.
True repentance is impossible without faith - faith in God. It begins when a person acknowledges their sin, admitting they are wrong, and recognizing that God is right.
In this dispensation, prayer has been reduced to a one way counselling session. We confess everything and leave feeling lighthearted but no real change takes place.
Real repentance must lead to a change of mind and heart.
Repentance produces a new dimension of spiritual transformation guided and shaped by the truth of God's word.
Repentance is not about being less sinful but living in accordance to God's standards.
Evidence.
1. We repent by becoming the Light. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Your life should become the reason someone gives thanks to God.
2. We repent by dealing honestly with our struggles.
3. Repenting involves practical steps. Seeking help where needed. Putting measures in place - being accountable. If we don't, we are likely to fall back to our old ways.
4. We must repent to handle worries.
