Your degree is important. But please don't stop there.

You can spend four years in university, graduate with a good degree, attend NYSC, get a job… and still discover that the world has changed while you were studying.

That's why I tell people:

No matter what course you studied, learn a skill.

But let me take that a step further.

Don't just learn a skill. Learn a skill that is relevant to the times.

Because having a skill isn't automatically an advantage.

Imagine spending two years mastering something that nobody is looking for anymore.

The world is moving.

Technology is changing.

AI is changing how businesses work.

The way people communicate, market, sell, create and even work is changing.

So you have to keep asking yourself:

"What problems are people facing today, and what can I learn to help solve those problems?"

Don't learn something simply because it's trending.

Don't learn something because your friend is making money from it.

Understand the direction the world is moving and position yourself accordingly.

Your certificate says, "This is what I studied."

Your skill says, "This is what I can do."

And your ability to keep learning says:

"I can adapt."

That's the real advantage.

Because the goal isn't just to become skilled.

The goal is to remain relevant.

So, what skill are you currently learning—or what skill do you think everyone should be learning right now?
