A joyous and memorable moment for our church family and for the wider community.

We continue to pray for God's guidance for our new Rector in her life and ministry.

Lent Group: Saturday 17th February 10.30am - 12 noon in the church building. This Lent all of us are encouraged to draw on the wisdom of Black Spirituality, particularly the practice of “tarrying” (waiting) as a community to draw closer to Jesus and to each other. We meet to discuss the topics raised in the Church of England’s Lent booklet, Watch and Pray: Wisdom and hope for Lent and life. There will be a mix of sharing, looking at a Bible passage, and time for quiet personal reflection. Do come along and see what it's all about.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent - a period of 40 days of deep reflection and drawing closer to Jesus, leading up to the joyful celebration of Easter. On Ash Wednesday, a cross of ash is traced across each forehead. These words are said, 'Remember that you are dust, and to dust you will return', as a reminder that we don't live forever and we need to put right the things in our lives that damage our relationships with each other and the earth, and distance us from God. By receiving the cross of ash we are reminded of our dependence on God.
Do join us whether you want to simply watch, or would like to receive the ash yourself as a powerful symbol at the start of Lent.
The service will take place in the church building. If you would like to join on Zoom please contact [email protected]

As we approach the Third Sunday of Epiphany,

Let us remember the importance of the birth, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ through some pictures from St. Mary's Church, Norwood Green.

A reflection from John's prologue.

The nativity scene - ”And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth.“
(‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭)

The Crucifix - ”He was in the world, and the world came into being through him; yet the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him.“
(‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭10-11)

Resurrected Christ - ”The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it“
‭‭(John‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ )
