🌍 Today is World Environment Day 🌍

As God's caretakers of the earth we are called as individuals and together to care for our precious planet 💚

🙏 We share this prayer with you written by Rt Revd David Walker Bishop of Manchester:

Heavenly Father,
You have taught us, through your servant St Francis,
That all creation is your handiwork.
Grant us your grace that we may
Exercise wise stewardship of this Earth;
Tread lightly upon it;
And cherish its resources;
That our children may enjoy its riches, throughout all generations,
And your name be glorified through all that you have made.
Amen.

♻️ In our church our 'Green team' volunteers have helped our church grounds and buildings become more energy efficient, better for wildlife and lots more. Alongside holding several services or events on eco-topics. We also follow the A Rocha
Eco-Church award scheme, having received our Silver for Christ Church and Bronze for All Saints.

🌟 Today's featured volunteer for national Volunteer Week is Dave 👏

Many of you will recognise Dave from around Snodland - a true community guy who likes to give back in so many ways.

⛪ At our Church he gets involved with lots of things, mainly organising and planning the events as part of the fundraising team, which help raise money to go towards our community mission and outreach work.

Never afraid to try new things, dress up for a bit of fun or use some of his many skills, interest and qualifications to support the work of the church and the events held.

🌭🍳 From Bingo to cooked breakfasts, cream teas, fayres, quizzes and sheep auctions he's happy organising and working alongside with his fundraising team to make the events a success and raise record amounts. But they are looking for new helpers, so if you would like to get involved and find out what other exciting events we have in the pipeline

🌟 Today's featured volunteer for National Volunteer Week is Alison 👏

💻 If you've ever wondered who is working behind the scenes working to livestream our 10am Sunday service on Facebook and ensure the screen showing the service wording and hymns are all running to time during the service it's usually Alison who does this weekly 🎶

Having one of our weekly services online has helped make our church more accessible to those unable to attend in person.

👥 Over the years Alison has been busy! Involved in organising, leading and helping with so many of our church and community activities and events. From our past Christmas Shoe Box appeals, Christmas Hampers, being part of the Fundraising and events team and running 'Open Door' for the community for many years until it sadly had to close it's doors but opening new opportunities.

⛪ Alison is shortly due to complete her training as a Licensed Lay Minister too, so she will be even more involved in our church services and helping lead some of them👏

💥EXTRA HELPERS NEEDED - to support Alison as part of our digital team. This would involve initial training and support to use the software for our Sunday morning services and then helping out once or twice a month to run the presentations and livestream the service.

So if you're passionate ICT, would like to work behind the scenes and share or learn the skills needed to do this, please drop us a message or email we'd love to hear from you - [email protected]

🐞 We're excited for our FREE 'Churches Count on Nature' event this Saturday 🤩

This year we have NEW activities for all ages! So if you've not been before do pop down and see us and explore the churchyard:

🌸 Check out our churchyard for flowers, grasses, trees, insects and more
🌳 Shake a tree & see what you see
🎨 Get creative with nature & clay
📝 Complete our simple survey & make a note of what you find
🪵 Create your own patterns with different bark rubbings
🔎 Look up close in a survey square with magnifiers - what will you find?
✝ Spot the different pictures on the gravestones & find out what they mean

If you've popped up to our 'Here for You' Community Hub at Christ Church on a Monday or Wednesday morning recently, you might well have see Gill. She is one of our new volunteers, who started to come along to the Hub and then decided she wanted to help out more and be part of the team.

⛪ Gill, like our other hub volunteers will welcome any visitors, serve them refreshments and be there to offer support and a friendly face. You may well see her there today!

🌟 Today's as part of Volunteers' Week we are sharing the opportunities we have for volunteers to get involved with our All Saints Project

With thanks to our grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the building work is almost complete and we are looking forward to welcoming our church family, visitors and the local community back into All Saints Church with more planned events and activities over the next year.

This means we have lots of ways you could get involved. If you're passionate about local history and All Saints Church, you might like to learn more and lead future tours or help produce material for our new information displays. If you're a people person, you might want to help supporting our school or family activities and meeting with the public at events.

🌟 Our 1st featured volunteer for National Volunteer Week is Caroline 👏

If you've come along to one of our Messy Church mornings, Children's Church or your teenagers have attended Waymakers youth group or some of our other events, you will have seen Caroline.

🎨 A dedicated volunteer, bubbling with lots of ideas and creativity for all ages to enjoy and fun games!

🤔 If you too have lots of activity ideas, like working with children, having fun and sharing stories in different ways, you might like to be part of our Children's Ministry team.

🫵 We are particularly looking for Messy Church helpers. Messy Church is a fun, Christ centred form of church where families and all ages can come together through creativity, hospitality and a time of celebration and worship. Our Messy Church sessions run once a month on a Saturday morning either at Christ Church or All Saints Church If you'd like to get involved & join the team please drop us a message or email [email protected].

🎉It's National Volunteer's Week!!! This week we will be celebrating our hardworking, dedicated and amazing volunteers and we want to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all 👏 You are all stars 🌟

☕️🍪 This morning our 'Here for You' Community Hub volunteers will be on hand to welcome visitors into Christ Church between 9am - 12pm. They help out on a rota and will serve refreshments and offer a helping hand if needed and offer companionship.

❓Did you know our volunteers will giver 1,000's of hours of their time each year to help us run a wide range of church services, activities, groups and events as well as helping maintain and run our buildings and hall.😮

Without their help and time we would not be able to do all that we can, so we are extremely thankful 🙏

👥 Throughout the week we will share some of our volunteer stories. It doesn't matter if your young or older, if you have lots of time to give or just a little, if you come with lots of skills and experience or if you have none. Training is given, where required.
