Please read this and comment these are the only two respite facilities we have in the county and Lincolnshire County Council are planning to close them. We need as many objections as possible to keep this service open .
More time to share views on short breaks service!
We recently announced proposed changes to our short breaks and emergency respite services for working-age adults with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities, and their families and carers.
This would see services moved from their current location, Swallow Lodge in North Hykeham and Cedar House in Spalding, and instead delivered in other homes across the county that already provide high-quality residential and nursing care for working-age adults.
The council is in discussions to extend the current contract to keep Swallow Lodge and Cedar House open while that additional engagement takes place.
The proposals are designed to provide a better experience for families and would offer them greater choice, flexibility and care nearer to home.
We’re now giving people further time to share their views on the plans. Once the necessary arrangements have been made, we'll share further details on how people can take part. We'll ensure everyone using the services is contacted to make them aware.
