What would better support for those working with young people look like?

At Urban Saints, we're seeking to listen carefully to those serving children and young people in churches, schools and communities.

We've launched a short survey to better understand:

• The challenges youth leaders and workers are facing today
• Areas where additional training would be valuable
• Resources that would make ministry and youth work easier
• Opportunities for connection, encouragement and support

At Westbrook Academy, our Academic Support team exists to help students grow in confidence and thrive throughout their learning journey.

We provide tailored support including:

• 1:1 academic support sessions
• Study skills and assignment guidance
• Presentation support
• Ongoing mentoring and check-ins
• Support for additional learning needs

We also offer free neurodivergent screening and work closely with students to ensure the right support is in place from the very beginning.

Our approach is encouraging, compassionate, and focused on helping every student reach their full potential.

Youth leaders and volunteers across churches and schools are doing vital work with young people, but often without the practical resources needed to sustain it well.

That creates pressure points: too much reliance on individuals, inconsistent delivery, and limited capacity for pastoral care.

When teams are properly resourced, they are better equipped to share responsibility, support wellbeing, and lead with consistency. 🙌

Our Schools Worker short course has been designed to equip teachers, volunteers, and church workers with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools needed to serve schools effectively.

Through six online sessions, you’ll explore:

• Current challenges facing schools
• Reflective practice and personal growth
• Building strong school partnerships
• Developing culture, values, and community links
• Practical ways to support holistic care and collective worship

This course is ideal for anyone involved in schools ministry or seeking to deepen their understanding of working alongside schools and communities.

Only 1 in 5 young people have a trusted adult outside their home.

For many churches and schools, that means youth leaders and volunteers are stepping into a vital role - walking alongside young people through some of life’s biggest challenges.

But many are doing this under growing pressure and limited support.

This week, one youth leader almost didn’t show up. They were stretched and overwhelmed, but they went anyway and a young person had someone to sit with them in a moment that mattered deeply. 🙌
