Before he was the pastor of the largest of church in London, C. H. Spurgeon pastored a small Baptist church in the village of Waterbeach, about five miles outside of Cambridge, aged just 17. Sadly the original thatched chapel was destroyed by fire. The current building was built in 1863.

in 1846 George Müller recorded in his diary: "One of the Orphans having received half-a-crown from a cousin, gave 1s. 6d. of it towards building the Orphan-House". The House Müller refers to is Home No 1 which opened in 1849 and cost £10,000 to construct and fit out. It's still there today!

It's fantastic to see that the George Müller Museum has been allowed to relocate to one of the old Ashley Down Orphanages that he built. Hopefully it'll draw much more interest in the man and, hopefully, the God he served...

In 1857 work was completed on House no 2 at Ashley Down. 162 years later, we are so excited to be preparing to move our offices and museum into a section of this building! You can find out more about the move here: https://www.mullers.org/news/97

George Whitefield was born in Gloucester and died in 1770, aged 55, while on his American preaching tour in Newburyport, Massachusetts
