Our Church Hall, which lies opposite the church itself, is a large space, available for bookings for parties, meetings and all manor of groups. Community Grant Helps St Giles Church Hall
Complete Sustainability Project

A project to carry out essential sustainability improvements at St Giles Church Hall in Rowley Regis has been completed, following a generous £9,097 grant from Enovert Community Trust provided through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF).

Built in 1956, St Giles Church Hall has been at the centre of the Rowley Regis community for nearly 70 years, offering facilities for hire for a range of functions, including parties, conferences, meetings and clubs. The project has involved replacing the existing large, poorly fitted single glazed windows with new double glazing and carrying out upgrades to the heating system to improve efficiency.

Dr Ian Sykes, Treasurer of St Giles Church Hall Committee, said: “Heating costs have risen substantially in recent years, which was putting a huge strain on the Hall’s financial viability. With combined bills for electricity and gas costing around £10,000 per year, the Hall was reliant on financial support from St Giles Church.

“This project will ensure that we can reduce our operating costs, improve the Hall’s environmental credentials, and continue to provide a warm and comfortable venue for all our users.”

Angela Haymonds, Trust Manager of Enovert Community Trust, said: “The Trust is delighted to have supported this important project to carry out essential sustainability improvements at St Giles Church Hall, which will ensure the local community has access to a high-quality venue for public meetings, events and group activities.”

We are delighted to have been able to upgrade our Church Hall with new double glazed windows and our heating system has been cleaned out and upgraded. All thanks to a very generous grant from Enovert CommunityTrust. We are so grateful for their support and generosity in making our Hall much more comfortable/warmer for our hirers. We are proud to have a Hall that enables us to offer space for community events as well as excellent private hire facilities.
