Our Community Engagement Officer Michael has been to the Rotherham Interfaith Panel today.

We’ve been invited as part of Interfaith Week next month to a visit to the Russell Street Mosque by our friend and regular Thursday guest Mirban Hussain on Saturday November 14th at 1pm.

Please DM or let Michael know if you would like to attend, be advised these guys make one of the best cups of tea around.

The Interfaith Panel are also holding a tea party on Monday November 16th at 4pm in Rotherham Town Hall open to all but please let Michael know to supply numbers to celebrate our wonderful diverse community.

The meeting also covered the Local Integration Board where we’ve got a cracking idea on how to support the upcoming repair cafe.

Our community engagement officer Michael’s wife Leah doesn’t allow him to have bacon at our warm space because he’s a bit too Ron Swanson with it.

Means there’s more for everybody else though.

Free bacon sandwiches, hot drinks, toast and great company in the St Francis room from 9:30(ish) this morning.

WE’VE HAD A BIT OF A SHIFT AROUND.

We had a couple of people say the low chairs were a bit hard to get out of in the St Francis room so we’ve moved the square tables and chairs in for the warm space and to keep people eating RIVO s lovely hot food on a Thursday we’ll be serving in there over the winter.

We’ll have the Community Pantry just outside the doors of the St Francis room in church.

We can get more books etc out all free to a good home though a donation would be nice.

We’ve put some of the hall tables to the back of church for after service on a Sunday or if we have more people than seats on a Tuesday or Thursday.

We extended the children’s area a bit and put in the soft chairs, we’ve got some plans for these as finances allow.

If you’re wanting to nurse a little one we’ve a couple of quilts from Project Linus UK to give you some cover if you want it.

See you in the morning and thanks to our friend John donating a toaster we can now do toast as well as bacon sandwiches.
