We are delighted to welcome a team from Middle East Media this Sunday. They will be sharing something of the amazing work they are doing in ‘transforming lives with unstoppable hope’. This will be followed by a shared lunch with the church family. It’s going to be an awesome day.

Middle East Media (MEM) is creating media content to move the people of the Middle East towards life-transforming faith in Jesus Christ.

CoGS goes a Scouting!

A small team from CoGS were pleased to lend a hand with the traffic management for the annual Romford & District Souts St. George's Day Parade in Collier Row yesterday.

There were plenty of smiles and community spirit abounded!

Our Annual Meeting was held within our Worship Service this morning. Such a blessed time of thanksgiving for what God is doing and for all those called to serve Him in this place. A truly wonderful time of praise.

We had a great morning on Saturday at Refresh with more than 45 ladies in attendance.

We were pleased to welcome the church’s own Jenny Allen talking about the work of her ethical clothing company Jenerous, including a virtual call from India with the company’s newest production partner Mercy.

Mercy gave a powerful (and sometimes challenging) testimony about how God encouraged her to seek out those who vulnerable and in danger within her community and to provide them with a way out of their situation.

“He has risen!” (Matthew 28:6)

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, focusing on His victory over death, and with it the atonement for sin, and the hope of eternal life.

Out of the darkness of the tomb came a blazing light upon the world. From death on a cross came the promise of new life.

This is a gift offered too all, but it is up to you whether or not to accept it.

"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." (Luke 23:46)

These were the final words uttered by the crucified Christ.

They were the final acknowledgement that his mission, the whole purpose of his live, had now been completed.

Through his agony was the burden of sin lifted from the world. We were, each and every one of us made free by his sacrifice.

Today, a number of churches from across Collier Row gathering together at the Good Shepherd to reflect, to honour and to try to comprehend this world transforming moment.

Standing at the foot of the Cross, we each had the opportunity to lay down that “thing” which held us back from realising our Christ-given freedom.

Easter is a season to ask, what is holding you back?
