This weekend we celebrated Pentecost at St Edward’s Church. Pentecost is celebrated as the "birthday of the Church" because it marks the start of its global missionary focus. As part of the service we process outside, which a visual reminder that the Church is not confined to a building; its purpose is to be "sent out" into the wider community. This is something we are really conscious of at St Edward’s. As a side issue, it was about 29 degrees that morning here in Romford!

☕️ More tea, Vicar!

We had a wonderful few hours in the vicarage garden sipping tea, eating cake, and enjoying good company together.

The real highlight was having 28 people gathered from across our Wednesday and Friday congregations, as well as our Sunday 8am and 10am services. It was so lovely to see the wider St Edward’s family come together in one place.

A simple afternoon, but a really special reminder that church is about friendship and community as well as worship. 🍰🌿
