Boys Night Out in Bromsgrove ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ›

Members of Redditch Catenians enjoyed a great โ€œboys night outโ€ on Friday, starting with drinks at The Cross Inn At Finstall before heading on to Zinga Restaurant in Aston Fields for dinner.

Although we are Redditch Catenians, our membership is drawn from Catholic men across the Redditch and Bromsgrove areas, so it was lovely to enjoy an evening out locally in Bromsgrove.

Catenians is built around faith, family, friendship and brotherhood - and evenings like this show the social side of membership at its best. Good company, plenty of laughter, great food and a chance to relax together outside our regular meetings.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such an enjoyable evening.

Anyone interested in finding out more about Redditch Catenians is very welcome to get in touch.

Membership of the Redditch Catenians is about much more than monthly meetings.

Alongside our faith, friendship and family values, members enjoy a varied calendar of social events throughout the year - from meals out and sporting trips to theatre visits, quizzes and relaxed get-togethers for members and their families.

These events are for members only, but we hope this gives a flavour of the social side of Catenian life and the friendships that come with being part of the Circle.

News about our members

Redditch Catenians member John Kane, his wife Joanna, Mayor of Redditch and their son Liam, also a Redditch Catenian, were honoured to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace last week.

The event recognised public service and community contribution.

Joanna and Liam enjoyed speaking with Queen Camilla, who commented on how smart Liam looked in his kilt, while John spoke with Prince Edward about his own commitment to the local community.

John is well known in Redditch for providing accommodation for overseas doctors, nurses and care staff working at local NHS hospitals, particularly those serving the Alexandra Hospital.

A proud moment for the Kane family and a lovely example of the varied work, service and community involvement found among Redditch Catenians.

Under New Management

Please join us in congratulating Roger Duggan, the new President of the Redditch Catenians.

Having moved to Redditch more than 25 years ago, Roger first discovered the The Catenian Association through a fellow parishioner at OLMC Redditch, who described it as โ€œa chance to eat, drink and chat with other Catholic menโ€ - something Roger says still rings true today. But he has also seen first-hand how supportive members are of one another and their families, especially in times of difficulty, illness and bereavement.

After successfully avoiding the Presidential role for around 25 years, Roger has now taken on the chain of office and hopes to build on the strong legacy of his predecessors, encourage new members, and challenge outdated perceptions of the Catenians.

Roger has chosen CAFOD as his Presidential Charity for the year, recognising the vital work it carries out in troubled and often overlooked parts of the world.

Any local Catholic men interested in finding out more about the Redditch Catenians are warmly invited to get in touch.

Thursday was a landmark evening for the Redditch Catenians, and we were delighted to welcome David Prescott, Provincial Director of Province 6, to The Tardebigge for the occasion.

During the evening, Namir George formally handed over the chain of office to Roger Duggan, who was installed as the new Circle President.

It was also a pleasure to enrol two new Brothers into the Circle - Francis Cordha, a former member, and John Paul, who has transferred from the Solihull Circle.

We were also pleased to be joined by visiting guest Luke Payton, Principal of Saint Augustine's Catholic High School And Sixth Form Redditch

Following the official proceedings, everyone enjoyed a lovely dinner together, making it a memorable and special evening for all.

If youโ€™d like to know more about the Catenians or are interested in joining please get in touch:
