Happy Valentine's Day ❤️.

It takes courage to show your feelings to someone who might not know them. It requires a bit of vulnerability. But remember: Love is never wasted. Even if a gesture isn't returned as we imagined, the act of putting kindness and affection into the world honours the one who created love in the first place.
So today, don't let the sun go down with your words unspoken. Reach out. Send the note. Make the call. Tell your partner why they matter. Tell that "someone special" that they are appreciated. Let us be a people who are famous for how well—and how loudly—we love one another.

Love shouldn't be kept a secret. There is a profound truth in the idea of reaching out to someone who "may not realise our feelings." In the Bible, love is rarely described as a hidden emotion; it is almost always described as an action.
In 1 John 3:18, we are reminded: "Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." Today is the day to bridge the gap between feeling love and expressing it. A heart full of love that is never shared is like a lamp hidden under a bowl—it has the power to light up a room, but only if it’s allowed to shine.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the gift of love and the people who make our lives whole. Today, we pray for our partners, spouses, and those closest to us. May our appreciation for them be clear, and may our devotion to one another grow deeper every day. We also pray for the special people in our lives who may not yet realise how much they mean to us. Give us the courage to speak our hearts and the kindness to make them feel truly seen. Help us to love not just with words, but with action and grace—today and every day.
In your mighty name I pray,
Amen 🙏

God bless you all 🙏

I will be in White River Place this morning from 10AM to 12PM. If you fancy a chat, a prayer, or just someone to listen to, then why not come by and say hello?

Anxiety.

Anxiety is just a weather pattern, not the whole sky. It’s passing through, even when it feels like it’s moved in for good. Be patient with yourself while the clouds clear. When you're in the middle of a "storm," it’s hard to remember that the blue sky still exists behind the clouds. The weather is active—it rains, it blows, it thunders. It can be loud and overwhelming, but it is physically impossible for a storm to last forever.

Storms of life can be scary; they can take over our everyday, and anxiety can bring our very being to a standstill, but we don't need to fear. We have a rock to cling to, and that rock is Jesus. Cast your anxieties on him today, whatever they may be. He may not calm the storm around you, but he's always there, guiding you through the storm you're facing.

I will be in White River Place this morning from 10AM to 12PM at my usual spot outside Lloyd's Bank. So if you fancy a chat, a prayer, or just someone to listen, then why come by and say hello?

Dear Lord,

I bring before You today all who may be feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Help to calm their racing hearts and chaotic thoughts. Help them to surrender these fears to You—take them, Lord. I ask for Your peace to be upon them, which surpasses all understanding, to calm their hearts and minds. Help them to trust in Your plan, knowing You are with them.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen 🙏

God bless you all 🙏

Sadness and loneliness.

We’ve all been there—feeling alone even in a crowded room, or carrying a quiet sadness for something lost. Sometimes, there isn’t even a 'why'; we just feel out of sorts. We all feel alone sometimes, even when we’re together. There is a specific kind of sadness that comes when things change or move on. But even in those moments where we feel most alone, we are connected by that very feeling.

Even Jesus had mornings when the weight of the world felt too much, and his circle couldn't stay awake with him. If your day feels more like a struggle than a celebration, remember that Gethsemane was part of the story, too. Lean into the quiet and hold on. It's a poignant reminder that Gethsemane wasn't a failure, but a profoundly human moment of processing pain. It makes the story's eventual joy feel much more earned.

Sorry, a bit heavy today. I will be in my usual spot this morning outside Lloyds Bank from 10AM till 12PM. So if you are feeling a bit down or out of sorts, if you need a chat, need to get something off your chest, or just need someone to listen, why not come by and say hello?

Father God,
The Bible says that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. With You by my side, I am never truly alone. Help me overcome my negative thoughts and fear of being alone. Please bring Your comfort, Your strength, and Your peace that goes beyond understanding to my soul. I trust in Your goodness and Your promise never to leave or forsake me.
In Jesus' name,
Amen 🙏

God bless you all 🙏

Friendship.

We all need that one person who knows our messy side and stays anyway. True friendship is about having a person who's a vault for your secrets and a lifeline when things go sideways. It’s the backup we all need to survive the hard days. They are the keepers of our hidden truths and the hands that reach out when the path grows steep. When the world feels heavy, a friend doesn't just stand by us—they help us carry the weight.

There is a friend whose loyalty knows no end and whose presence never wavers. He will never abandon you or leave you to wander alone. Even in your deepest shadows, He stands beside you. That friend is Jesus—the one truly unshakable foundation and the most faithful companion you will ever know.

I will be in town this morning at my usual spot outside Lloyds Bank. I will be there from 10AM to 12PM. If you fancy a chat, a prayer, or just someone to listen, why not drop by and say hello?

Lord,
Thank you for the gift of friendship. Help me to be a listening, forgiving, and gentle presence for my friends. May I always reach out and build bridges, sharing in joys and sorrows, and reflecting your love in every connection. Amen 🙏

God bless you all 🙏

Lego, who doesn't like Lego.

Lego is fun. Looking at the picture on the box, you anticipate opening it, then start with the first bag. You open it, pour the pieces out, and they scatter all over. Then you find the bag within a bag, with smaller, intricate pieces.
You follow the instructions, page by page, seeing your Lego masterpiece take shape, the sense of fulfilment when you've completed your build is like.......look at what I've built, it may be a Star Wars kit, a car, or the PAC-MAN video console, like the one I'm building now.

But what if our lives were like Lego?

We often spend our lives trying to follow a specific "instruction manual." We think if we just click the right pieces together—the right job, the right house, the right image—we’ll finally be complete. We like the safety of the box and the certainty of the step-by-step guide.
But when God calls you, He often starts by knocking your "set" down. To us, the scattered pieces on the floor look like a mess or a failure. To God, they look like possibility. Unlike us, God is a Free Builder. He doesn't need a manual to know where the pieces go, and He isn't limited by the picture on the front of the box. When God deconstructs your life, He isn't destroying you; He is freeing the bricks. He clears the floor and restarts from the foundation, building something far more creative and resilient than any "pre-packaged" life could ever be.
The "Lego" Challenge:
If you have Lego at home, try "free building" for five minutes today. As you click pieces together without a guide, think about the freedom God has to shape your life.

I will be at White River Place this morning, at my usual spot outside Lloyd's Bank, from 10AM to 12PM. If you fancy a chat, a prayer or just someone to listen, then why not come by and say hello?

Lord,
Thank you for being the Master Builder. Today, I hand you the pieces of my life. I stop trying to follow my own instructions and trust Your infinite creativity. Build me from the foundation up.
Amen 🙏

God bless you all, and happy building. 🙏
