Important Notice

With the introduction of Tier 4 regulations, it has been decided that Congregational Worship will be ceased until these regulations are revised downwards. This decision is to ensure the safety of congregation members. Elders will review this decision regularly with a view to opening for worship again just as soon as it is judged safe to do so. Worship will continue remotely, and Church members will be advised directly through KIT and by email of details for online services

Use of church facilities will also be shut down, with very limited exceptions. As soon as it is permissible and safe to do so we will welcome back community groups we have associations with.

The church continues to reach out to the community through messaging and prayer, and by accommodating the Food Hub as an essential community service. While our full activities may be temporarily curtailed, we will continue to seek ways to serve our congregation and our community wherever it is possible.

Due to Important Message – Covid-19 pandemic
Regrettably, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are following church and government advice to suspend all public worship and church organised gatherings. During this time of challenge and crisis we will continue Living God’s Love in new ways and we will do so in faith, hope and love.

One of the things to remember about church is that it is people that matter more than the building itself. However you will always get a warm welcome inside Purley URC if you venture inside, especially on a chilly Sunday morning...…..😀

Today the Church ponders the horror of the Cross. Despite knowing what happens next we are appalled by this shameful method of ex*****on. Stripped naked, slow asphyxiation killed the victim who tires of the agony of lifting himself up to breathe. A dreadful lingering death - to encourage others to obey the might of Rome. Chagall’s painting demonstrates this horror but sets Jesus’ death amongst pogrom and persecution. [ 180 more words ]
