** MODERN SLAVERY **

We are hosting the next Deanery Synod on the 9th July at 7.30pm. The topic is going to be modern slavery with the speaker Margaret Beels OBE.

This is an open meeting and all are welcome to join us:
St. Andrew's Church. 956 Harrow Road, Sudbury, HA0 2QA

There will always be slavery - it has not been relegated to the past. Thousands of people in the UK are currently living as slaves. That means their freedom has been taken and they are forced to work against their will. 200 years after the abolition of the slave trade there are 122,000 men, women and children trapped in modern slavery in the UK. The Clewer Initiative believe that the tools to end modern slavery already exist within the local community and that the Church, which is present in all communities and at the heart of many, has a primary responsibility in leading these efforts.

A huge thank you to everybody that helped organise and run the St. Andrew’s Summer Fair yesterday. It’s a huge effort and we couldn’t have pulled it off without you!!

It was a fantastic afternoon and an excellent turnout on what could have been a very wet day, and a lot of money raised…

On 19th April we have a visiting violinist who is going to play some pieces during the service in aid of UNICEF. The service begins at 10am and we hope you can join us to enjoy the music.

If you're able to make a donation that would be very much appreciated. Anthony has so far raised £11,620 of his £20,000 target.
