God will and can Turn it around for you.
One of the most devastating feelings in the Christian life is fatalism—the feeling Powerless feeling that things will not change that this is the way it is going to be forever and nothing is going to change it and that's that. This is the way I am; this is the way the my life is my spouse is; this is the way my kids are; this is the way work is (or no work); this is the way our small group is; this is the way society is—and that's that. It's been this way for so long; it's just not going to change. It will go on this way forever and probably get worse and that's that.
Well I am living proof it is NOT!
Coming to Christ I have learnt that one of the messages of the book of Acts is that this is emphatically not true.
Our lord and savour Jesus Christ is not dead and he is not distant and he is not silent and certainly is not weak and he is not uninterested in us and this evil world which exist in the Earth he created for us and the progress of his mission and in your life.
He is alive and what he began to do in his earthly life he is continuing to do for us spiritually... He is full of surprises for churches and for nations and for families, and for individual people.
That's the way we tend to be, we accept that feeling of helplessness except for a few chronically (like my faith filled loving friends Lynn and Bernard ) faith-filled hopers among us.
But that is emphatically not the way we have to be—or should be. Because Jesus is alive and trust me he can turn things around.
There is no one in this world that loves us like Jesus...He is full of surprises. ( trust me I know this I am living it)
He is not locked into any fatalistic pattern of continuity. He is amazingly infinitely creative and amazingly infinitely resourceful. And trust me he dislikes very much coming across as boringly predictable...For sure he is not!!!!
Our Lord and amazing Saviour Jesus will so suddenly, out of the blue, show up...he took the key player in the persecution of his people and turned him totally around on the that old dusty Damascus road.
Look at what he did for Saul (now known as Apostle Paul) he who was breathing out threats and murders against God people ...which would have been a big enough reversal for the enemy—God turn it around for Saul he gets converted to Christianity...but he didn’t not just converted, but so wildly converted, beyond anybody's imagination ( this always excites me to see the hand of our Lord in Sauls life )
The power of hell forever defeated.
So converted that Sauls becomes Paul he turns totally around—from being the worst enemy of Christianity to the strongest advocate and most powerful missionary for Christianity Apostle Paul 🙌🏻
The hunter became the most hunted
Nobody would have dreamed it could have happen and happen so suddenly.
Persecution, violence, conspiracy, suspicion, scattering lies and then suddenly, out of the blue, Jesus turns things around.
That's the way he is and that is the way we should think about life. He is doing it in my own life...Now my own conviction is that Jesus is just as much alive today as in the book of Acts and that he means to do a lot more things like that today than we are willing to see or receive.
He has so many surprises in store for you and in this evil world and for your life and his ministry that you have never dreamed of
You see the fear of the Lord is that sense of awe that the Lord God is infinitely holy and infinitely powerful and may not be trifled with.
He is free to break in with indescribable, jaw dropping, heart-stopping suddenness and power whenever and wherever he pleases.. You see our King of Kings is the saviour of my soul and he can do that for you... lets go back to that fear...The fear of the Lord is what the disciples felt when Jesus had stilled the storm and when Ananias and Sapphira had dropped dead.
We do not and should not not make light of this amazing God. You do not dally ( if that’s a word) with him or take his name in jest or treat him as marginal or negligible in life.
He is living and powerful and unstoppable and infinitely holy and wills the glory of his Father with hot passion.
You humble yourself, as the Apostle Peter says, under his mighty hand. That is and what my Lord can do... the Jesus I know can break in with healing power and turned around sickness and death itself.
I am living with a nightmare diagnosis but Jesus he the saviour of my soul and he shall and will only get my praise.
In this life...family, friends, even members of your inner church circle will let you down but praise be to God our lord Jesus will never let us down... I encourage you now in the midst of my own suffering turn to God hear his small still voice. I invite you today to Rest in the eye of his love and care, tremble yes tremble at the wind of his holy and mighty mighty power, and be on the alert in your life and in this evil world for utterly amazing inbreakings of his might to turn things around.
Let there be in your life an open-ended expectancy that our amazing loving lord and Savior. Jesus is going to act. And trust me when He comes He is going to turn things around....And when He does act for you prepare to reap.
Jesus has been the saviour of my soul, praise be to him alone and I invite you to have that relationship with him.
So, I invite you to discover with me the voice of God . Let’s hear God’s voice in the Scriptures, pausing over his words in an unhurried manner. Let us take them, each day, as a word from God’s mouth to us. And then, as our ears have listened intently and deeply to his words, let’s open our own mouths in reverence and joy, savoring the gift, in Jesus Christ, of having God’s ear in prayer.
I will leave you with his word
“God would, "meet all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"
(The book Philippians Ch 4:V19).
