We are an inclusive parish with two churches and a beautiful chapel: St Mary and St John on the Cowley Road, St Albans on Charles Street, and Bartlemas Chapel.

⛪✨ What a wonderful evening at Bartlemas Chapel! ✨⛪

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday 23rd August for the 900th Anniversary Patronal Festival of Bartlemas Chapel. 🌿

It was a truly special occasion as we celebrated 900 years of this remarkable place of care, respite and worship in East Oxford.

We were honoured to welcome the Bishop of Dorchester, who presided and preached at the special Eucharist, alongside the Mayor of Oxford. 🙏

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the procession from St Mary & St John’s, helped make the service possible, and stayed afterwards to share refreshments and fellowship. ❤️

Here’s to the next chapter in the long and remarkable story of Bartlemas Chapel! 🌳✨

⛪✨ 900 years of care, faith and community in East Oxford ✨⛪

This Sunday, we celebrate the Patronal Festival of Bartlemas Chapel and an extraordinary 900 years of this special place providing care and respite in our community. 🌿

We are delighted that the Bishop of Dorchester will be presiding and preaching at this special Eucharist, and that we will also be joined by the Mayor of Oxford.

🕠 5.45pm — We gather at St Mary & St John’s Church and process together to Bartlemas Chapel
🕕 6.00pm — Main service begins at Bartlemas Chapel
☕ Refreshments afterwards

We currently have exciting opportunities for musicians to become part of our worshipping community in East Oxford.

🎹 Assistant Director of Music
We are looking for an Assistant Director of Music to support the worship of the church by accompanying the choir at Sunday morning services.

🎵 Choral Scholarships 2026–27
We also have three Choral Scholarships available for 2026–27 — Soprano, Alto and Bass — supporting the worship of the church through singing at Sunday morning services.

🎹 Piano Recital for Refugee Education UK

Join pianist Callum Barraclough for an evening of piano music in support of Refugee Education UK.

The programme includes:
• Schubert – Drei Klavierstücke, Mov. II
• Amy Beach – A Hermit Thrush at Morn
• Scriabin – Sonata No. 5
• Two original compositions
