As part of our Rising Together project, we are delighted to be celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at Shree Radha Krishna Mandir, Oldham.

Alongside a range of themed activities, we are inviting the community to help create a large Ganesha artwork that will be displayed as a symbol of unity, creativity and cultural celebration.

Everyone can play a part, no matter their age or ability, by contributing to this special community project.

This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, share traditions, make new connections and celebrate the rich culture that makes Oldham such a vibrant and welcoming place.

SAD NEWS 

Jai Shree Krishna. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Valbai Keshra Vekaria, a respected and much-valued member of our community. She was 88.

Valbai was a quiet, humble and gentle person who, together with her late husband, Keshrabhai Kuverji Vekaria, shared a long association with our organisation. Their dedication goes back many years, to the days of our old Mandir on Fern Street.

Although Valbai was never one to seek recognition, she contributed greatly to our organisation. Keshrabhai was equally devoted and gave generously of his time through many years of voluntary service to our Mandir.

Their contribution continues through their family, whose members remain actively involved in our organisation today. 

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of Valbai. We pray for eternal peace for the departed soul. Jai Shree Krishna. Om Shanti.

As we prepare to conclude this sacred month dedicated to Lord Shiva, we invite all devotees and families to join us for an evening of prayer, devotion and blessings.

A programme celebrating Ganesh Utsav, Navratri and Diwali through music, dance, storytelling and family activities across the borough.

Join us for rangoli making, arts and crafts, creative workshops and a giant community Ganesh artwork, all leading to a joyful celebration showcase.

🪔 Introducing the people behind the final project in our Town of Culture artist series…

Indian Association Oldham and Saheli Women’s Group are bringing music, dance, storytelling, food and family activities to communities across the borough 🎶

Rising Together will include events linked to Ganesh Utsav, Navratri and Diwali, alongside creative workshops and community culture days.

People can make rangoli designs, try arts and crafts and help create a giant Ganesh artwork before the programme ends with a big celebration showcase ✨
